Eyebrow makeup- please recommmend

Never used it before in my life but I went into an eyebrow beauticians place and they recommended me to buy an HD brows palette in Vamp. Has anyone used this and is it the best or do you have any better suggestions? I'd like a powder, not a pencil I think. Has to be easy to apply and long lasting. I have very dark brown hair.

I use brow zings by benefit. I'm useless at doing brows but even I can do them with this. It's quite expensive if I remember rightly but I've had mine at least 5 months now and I'm not even close to seeing the pan yet. It's a powder and come in light medium and dark. Ive got medium but tbh even thats quite dark. The girl on the counter showed me how to do it and could believe i had wasted all this time with pencils. Cannot recommend it enough. I never have to top it up either it lasts all day. Can you tell I like it

I haven't used HD products but am using loreal brow artist genius and love it. It's a little pallet with an angled brush and spoolie and tweezers. It comes with wax that you dab on first then powder to fill in and it's so easy to use.

The eyebrow palette from Sleek is almost identical to BeneFit Brow Zing and about a quarter of the price. I use it with a bit of Maybelline Brow Drama (like BeneFit Gimme Brow but bigger and cheaper).

Brow zings by benefit is amazing. Stays on all day and really natural. I apply it with a real techniques eyebrow brush.

If my hair is dark brown (almost black) should I get the darkest shade of the benefit? And is the brush that comes with it ok?

I have the darkest browzings with very dark hair. The only problem I have with it is that even the darkest one has a slightly reddish tone to the brown which doesn't go with my cool toned almost black hair.

Oh dear, no I don't want a reddish tone I don't think.

I would get the medium and you can kinda of layer it. I dye my hair a lot so I do this when I go darker. I comes with wax to keep it in place. I've just bought a new brush but tbh the brushes that come with it are fine to start with. Just very small. I got a eyebrow brush from body care for £2 it's brilliant

Another vote for the Benefit. I use a clear mascara to set it afterwards.

This is wonderful - a wax, powder and brow highlight. For dark brown hair. Brilliant.

Ooh am liking the price of the Barry M one- does it come up quite dark then vivienne ?

I use Eyeko eyebrow gel, it's great because it's subtle and holds the hairs in place. I tried the Rimmel equivalent and found it gloopy and a bit crap.

I used to use Collection 2000 eyeshadow in 'walnut' - cheap as chips and very effective if you prefer powder brow stuff.

Yes, I only use it when my hair is darkest brown!

It's fab as you put the wax on first which 'sets' the hairs, then you put the powder on. Last all day.

I got the Benefit browzings one (on the recommendation of S&B!) and it looks horrible on me. I've got very dark brown hair but pale pale pale irish skin, and it looks reddy/orange and awful. I am quite sparse of hair and pencil also looks horrible, really artificial. I use a dark brown Laura Mercia eyeshadow that I apply carefully with a narrow eyebrow brush to fill in any gaps, à la Lisa Eldridge.

Think the darkest browzings one would work if you have a warmer complexion than mine, I go blue unless I'm actually overheating.

Does this stuff help cover white hairs or do you need tinting for that?

after trying loads of different products and even having HD brows done, I now just use a mid brown eyeshadow, applied with an eyebrow brush. Thin the one I am currently using is an MUA one for about £1. it stays all day and looks good.

I know you said no pencil but I have an amazing one. It's by Ottie, a Korean brand, and is super natural and very easy to use. It's angled, mechanical and comes with attached brush. The dark brown shade is perfect, it has no red tones unlike other western brands. I paid less than a fiver on Strawberry Net.

If you're shopping in Boots check out the Eyebrow kit called Collection (thinks it used to be called Collection 2000). It consists of 3 colour palettes - you'll never use them all, and a clear brow gel. It's costs about £3 if that and is very effective. The darkest shade is not warm at all. The only downside is 1) packaging is rubbish so the lid eventually comes off meaning you cannot carry it around with you but fine if you do your brows in the morning and 2) you'll likely only need 1 or 2 colours out of the palette but at the price it's still a bargain.
I used to use brow zings but it's so expensive & the hinges on the lid broke on that also. Agree the colour is very reddish, warm toned.

Korean eyebrow products are nice. I use The Face Shop Design My Eyebrow. Hourglass is nice too, but almost the same for, like, 7x the cost.

I can't recommend anastacia Beverly Hills dip brow enough. And I have tried loads. It comes in a pot and you apply with any angled brow brush. It stays on all day, even after swimming. I got so many with red tones I was giving up till I saw this on pixiwoo. And it's so easy to use. It's like a highly pigmented wax, and so quick as there's no faffing about with powders then waxes, makes it really precise too. It's £15 from cult beauty, I've had mine six months use it daily, and I'm maybe 1/15th of the way through it.

Apparently their pencil is really good too, but has a tendency to snap.

I have very dark brown, almost black eyebrows and find the only thing that works that does not have a reddish tinge is to use grey eyeshadow/pencils.

Used to use Bobbi Brown grey eyeshadow with an angled brush but now use the BB Perfectly Defined pencil in grey.

Sounds weird but looks so natural and defines really well.
