Tailored trousers and stroppy tops

I need a decent pair of black skinny tailored trousers for work. Ideally around £20 as I'm still losing weight.

Size 14 is too small and size 16 is too big (e.g. In debenhams). I have very slender legs compared to my waist measurement bloody babies so really need skinny fitting trousers. Any recommendations?

Also, I wear strappy tops under cardigans quite a lot, but they are all too loose around the bust . Any recommendations for decent strappy tops, not too snug but with enough elastic to fit around the boobs? Not too low cut.

Thanks in advance.

Well, I certainly wouldn't be taking stroppiness from any top of mine. sniffs

Slithytove I am just back from the shops having failed in my search for such trousers. I am a size up from yours but like you i have slim legs and carry weight around my tummy. As the sizes go up, the leg widths get bigger so i can barely close the waistband but have baggy clowns legs to contend with. Straight leg ones just, somehow, looked hideous. I tried on every pair in Debenhams and Next but no luck. I was also at an outlet store and got some ankle skimming navy ones in Jaeger but they were spendy (£80).

M&S had some nice trousers, but they were £35. I economised with H&M ones but the Marks' ones were lots nicer and I'll probably end up getting them too.

I know where you can get such trousers, I bought a few pairs for work recently and tried M&s, banana republic, Zara and as a cheap alternative Matalan. The Matalan ones are the best and exactly what you're describing they cost £18 and come in a regular length or a Capri. I love them so much I went back and bought more this weekend, the others probably won't get worn again.

Woohoo went to matalan today and got myself a pair of the first work trousers which don't make me look like a clown / twice my size!

Picked up two nice dresses in the charity shop to, so am very happy :)

Thanks for the help
