T-Shirts & Tops - Hanging or Folded?

I just wondered whether you hang your tee-shirts/tops or fold them and store them in drawers? I have always hung mine but I've got limited hanging space. I have acquired lots more clothes overnight; I have lost weight and am in most of my lovely clothes I'd vacuum packed 4 years ago when I gained weight. Anyway, I'm wondering whether to fold some tops but wouldn't they have creased lines on the folds? Thank you.

T-shirts are folded and put in a drawer. I don't have room to hang them. I thought most people just kept T-shirts in a drawer.

That's the thing isn't it? A lot of people think t-shirts are just something to wear when they're messing about at home perhaps on a weekend (so creases etc don't matter) but I hate mine to look as though they've never seen an iron - wish I could get over it but I can't! So to answer your question, all my tops, apart from woolens, are hung not folded. If you do decide to store some in drawers then folding is meant to be much better than folding in order to minimise creasing. HTH and we'll done with your weight loss :)

Oops meant to say rolling is meant to be better than folding - early morning brain fog - at 10am!?

Pupsiecola · 20/09/2015 09:59

Thank you both. Do you mean rolling Tia? I have always hung mine. I do fold vest tops though :-)

Cross posts ha. Another reason I have always hung them is because I like to do so in an organised way (short sleeves, colour order etc.) and so I can very easily grab exactly what I want, or quickly see my options in a certain colour. With folding I imagine I'd forget what's underneath the first few items in each column.

T shirts are folded in a drawer - aside from, say, the silky ones I'd wear for work.
Shell tops are hung, as are camis that tend to crease. Would like to hang more (esp cardigans etc) but I have very limited space, so have to prioritise dresses and blouses.

Iguessyourestuckwithme · 20/09/2015 10:07

I fold them in the kondo way

verenti · 20/09/2015 10:14

I don't have a big enough wardrobe to hang all my tops and jumpers so most of them are folded. I just iron them when I want to wear them.

BestIsWestOfGallifrey · 20/09/2015 10:16

I used to fold and stack them but am a convert to the Marie Kondo way. Makes things so much easier because you can see everything you've got at a glance. I need more drawers now.

vitaminC · 20/09/2015 10:18

I fold knitted fabric tops and hang woven ones.

PennyPants · 20/09/2015 10:18

I hang mine and vest tops. The only ones that are folded in a drawer are the ones worn under something else.

PennyPants · 20/09/2015 10:21

Mine are also sorted in colour and category eg work, going out, casual.
I might be overdoing it Smile

LasAnya · 20/09/2015 10:25

I have t-shirts and most tops folded in drawers.
Work blouses and cardigans are hanging in the wardrobe.

I'd love to hang everything, but don't have the space.

Bunbaker · 20/09/2015 10:29

Some of you must have huge wardrobes - or not many t-shirts. I don't have enough wardrobe space to hang up all my tops.

RachelZoe · 20/09/2015 10:41

I hang everything, I can't stand things folded in drawers, I have a lot of tops of various cuts and shapes in the same color, I can't see what I'm picking when they're folded up.

mrssmith79 · 20/09/2015 10:55

Collars - hanging
Easy crease tops - hanging
Vests and t shirts - drawer

In reality, most of it is perched precariously on the computer chair in the spare room.

dreamingofsun · 20/09/2015 11:37

hang, apart from vest tops. plus the ones that have to be kept flat - which i find really annoying and seem to be increasing. otherwise i can't find anything and they crease

VeganCow · 20/09/2015 12:50

Hung up after ironing. I hate those fold lines in tshirts.

Nonnainglese · 20/09/2015 12:59

Mine are Kondo'd, no creases and take up less space.
