Wedding shoe help

I toyed with posting this in weddings but I think here might be the best place to seek Mumsnet wisdom and would really appreciate your help!

I am looking for my wedding shoes and really struggling. I have a maximum budget of £70. I have looked at Elegantsteps.com, The Rainbow Club and Pink by Paradox London but nothing has really grabbed my attention that I can afford. I did find some I liked (hopefully the picture has worked!) from Pink by Paradox London but they quality of them was disappointingly poor, on a number I looked at, for shoes that cost £20 let alone £70! Therefore I would like to avoid this brand.

The shoes need to be ivory and preferably closed toe, although I would potentially go for open toe but they would have to be pretty wow. Definitely not strappy sandal type things because I never find them comfortable to walk in. Heel height about 2-3 inches. Loved the detail on the heel of the ones pictured but can't anything similar anywhere.

So yes I would be grateful for any help!

LK Bennett (if you have small feet)

ChristineDePisan · 19/09/2015 03:52

Heel too low

ChristineDePisan · 19/09/2015 03:54

Higher heel

Does it have to be traditional wedding shoes? One of the slebs Blake lively I think, wore amazing blue shoes. Made an interesting twist and can be worn again.

trufflesnout · 19/09/2015 10:56

Err, Christine, your first link is redirecting me to a wikipedia page on terrorist attacks in Britain, not the LK Bennett site Grin

Thank you everyone!

Sarah Thank you, but that brand I have already looked at the quality is shocking for the price.

Christine I hadn't thought of TKMaxx so thank you, I will have a look there.

Shenanagins I actually had already bought blue shoes and was very set on them after seeing lots on Pinterest etc. This was before I found my dress though and now I have it, the shoes look a bit odd with the dress and ivory ones did look a lot better when I tried them on in the shop, I just wasn't all that keen on the shop ones.

Mega link fail!!! Blush (Probably means I posted a link to some lovely shoes on the thread about whether we should be more scared of terrorists or MI5...)

The ones I was trying to link to are now only available in a size 2 through John Lewis, but if you're a size 6, OP, these are leather and only just over budget...

ChristineDePisan · 19/09/2015 19:10

would another colour (eg silver, gold) work with your dress?

DaisyChain87 · 19/09/2015 19:14

Debenhams have some lovely ones for about £30.

I got married in July and had a pair of silver shoes with a bow on. £25 from debenhams and so comfy!

If your dress is long then nobody will see your feet much, so you can afford to have some fun with it Smile

TheMotherOfHellbeasts · 19/09/2015 19:16

The shoes in the link look like a copy of the Manolo Blahnik Swan shoes (which I had for my wedding, good God were they uncomfortable!). If you could find some plain ivory court shoes, there are lots of people on etsy making shoe clips/beaded details which you can clip or glue onto any shoes.
Ballroom and Latin dancing shoes are blissfully comfy and eBay often have loads of them in ivory. Could you get some ones and then add the detail?

BikeRunSki · 19/09/2015 19:30

Loads and loads of possibilities on Amazon if you search "ivory court shoes". All price ranges, many makes.

If your dress is at all vintage then the Monsoon Annabelle shoes are pretty.

Puddlejumpingqueen · 19/09/2015 21:40

Manolo Blahnik Swan shoes are divine, I am very jealous. ignores how uncomfortable they were

I didn't think about customization, that is a really good idea and might be the route to go down.

My feet are a bit wide for LK Bennett unfortunately, I do like their shoes but they squash my toes together.

The dress does have some detail on it which has some silver in I think (trying to remember exactly from the last time I saw it) so I may look at that too.

The dress itself is quite flowy and casual but I wouldn't say vintage really - not too sure. I did look at the Monsoon shoes but they are sold out.

Thank you so much for all your ideas, these have really helped Smile
