When you can't wear 'standard' OR 'plus size'...

Where do you shop?!

I'm a size 18, but standard size 18 is a bit tight on me. Standard size 20s are too big no matter where I shop. I don't mean a bit big, I mean hugely big.

So I've tried a few plus size shops, but all sizes are huge around the crotch. Do they think we all have massive belly overhang?

Where do you size 18s shop?

I'm not the same size but Im standard/average height and short legs (petite length!), Tesco and M&S jeans fit me well.

Also, the Fat Face jeans (a bit more pricey) are generous around the waist but with little crotches.

Thinking outside the box, would maternity wear in a 16, worn on the lower button extender size things, be any good?

Well I don't mean to be funny but seriously you would rather wear maternity jeans or men's clothes then loose a couple of pounds? You could loose a couple of pounds quite easily so 'tight' clothes feel more comfortable by drinking more water, eating a little less and walking a little more. Nothing drastic! no ones saying go on a mega lifestyle change diet with all guns blazing but surely that's a better option than maternity stuff when you're not pregnant or mens stuff when you're not a man! It would probably only take a month at the most if you fit in standard 18 but find them a tad tight. I think it would be dangerous to buy bigger clothes rather than do something about it, it would be so easy just to keep putting weight on because you can just pop out the button another notch. I don't mean to be offensive, I'm just being honest. Size 18 isn't that large but when you go over that I would imagine it's a lot more difficult to make that change - give yourself a fighting chance!!
