Have booked us in to The Refinery for 4pm.
They have emailed asking if we'd like to order up some drinks in advance. (No payment required) they seem to be packages with plattersso I've just said we'd order as we arrive.
Or shall I order a couple of bottles of Prosecco in advance? Surely they an produce that on demand.

Omg WAF, I fear imminent disappointment looms. ( I am mostly quite dull and badly behaved) However I'd be very excited to meet you and hear more about the book!

So meeting with HH was fun(not), however, I think there is another job I might be interested in , that's in the pipeline. It will be ring-fenced , so I'd have to stay on to be with a chance of getting it.i could just about hold myself together here until it's advertised. Everything will be done and dusted by Xmas anyway.
So on balance, with the redundancy money being crap, I will have to stay on. I just cannot afford to flounce, and this other job would be a complete change for me. So I'll be drinking cocktails to that my Crepey friends. (Wibble , and also for your Dh WaF )

Ok the address of The Refinery is 110 Southwark Street. It is in a glass fronted modern building just past Pret on the left. The building looks like a large shopping centre. If you are coming from Waterloo there are buses 381 and the Rv1. Get of at the Lavington Street stop on Southwark St.
Camino is very nearby.

I have made 2 shepherds pies, a Sausage and Cider casserole, a taco bean bake, and a chicken and ham pie for fil. Now having a wee rest before Pilates. Determined not to be phased by teacher.( Ms Whiplash)

A small rant if I may. Will keep it brief. DH - birthday - no time to buy a card - contrite ish - nanny hot kids to make cards ("mummy, enjoy being 46") so that was fine but if she hadn't I'd have had nothing from my immediate family. Swine. I am trying to be understanding but feel a bit peeved. However, I had flowers, cards and wine from my work pals, plus a glass of champagne at lunchtime so can't grumble about the actual day. Hic!

Will sober up and report back.

Well, Monty, I think that's a bit shit of your DH. In these days of online shopping, it takes barely any time/effort to buy a present, and about 10 seconds to buy a card.

I recommend a Stropps-style bin crush.

Poor form Monty. I am very disappointed oyb. We all deserve a bit of a fuss, and I bet you do things for Dh on his b-day. Pleased that your work pals at least did something for you. I do know how that feels Monty Sadly, I do find that as time goes on it's my friends rather than my family who make a fuss of me on my birthday. I think it's hard when one is the person anticipating everyone else's needs and wants, and then no one is prepared to do it in return, even in a tokenistic way. Take heart, you are not alone. remind me to tell you the A-Z story when next we meet. I wont recount it again on here…Crepeys will be fed up with hearing it!

PS I do not wish to be associated with JC…and it's not for reasons of being right or left. I just don't trust him.
