Has anyone got any holy grails?

I love Clinique Extra Comfort and the YSL Touche Eclat one but feel like I need to branch out!

Don't mind cheaper ones (my bank would prefer it!) And don't have a preference with coverage although think Double Wear is a bit much on me. So helpful I know.

Have pretty normal trouble free skin most of the time...

Do you know what? The best I have tried recently (and I have, in my, erm, collection: Dior Fusion, Chanel Vitalumiere, Clarins radiant something, Clinique repair laser thingy, Bare Minerals powder thingy, to name a few) is Maybelline Dream Silk liquid. The colour is perfect, it is silky smooth, but buildable coverage, leaves a subtle glow, and cost me £5.99.

dior star is my new favourite, good coverage and nice glow to it.

I love Rimmel Match Perfection and Rimmel Wake Me Up. I read a review by a make up artist of Match Perfection and she swore there was no difference between it and YSL Touch Eclat foundation. I have dry dehydrated skin by the way. I would say the coverage for both is medium.

MAC Face and Body also pretty good - feels quite hydrating, fairly watery formula that is buildable, and there's no SPF so you get no flashback in photos

Mac Mineralize (since they got rid of hyperreal) and the new bare minerals complexion rescue. It's a liquid rather than powder and you can wear just a little as a tinted moisturiser or build it up for more coverage. Also like Clinique moisture - again allows build up and I put mineralise in areas that need more coverage!

Mimigolightly · 17/09/2015 13:31

Just started using EL DoubleWear Light as my "grown-up" foundation and it's very good. For general use, I second Bare Minerals' Complexion Rescue - it's a gel cream and is just amazing.

I love Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation, it's one of the few that is a really good match for my skin tone (I wear 01 Warm Ivory in the summer and 00 Porcelain in the winter) because I'm really pale. It's also not too heavy, my skin is reasonably good so I don't need a very thick foundation and it lasts well on me too.

L'oreal infallible is good.
Also like Chanel lumiere velvet and Borjois healthy mix serum.
Have greasy t zone. And Max Faxtor primer is great too - can't remember the name but think they only do one - it trumps all the higher end brands IME.

Twerking9to5 · 17/09/2015 14:15

I've tried a few high end brands but just bought rimmel wake me up and think it's my favourite! Great colour match, builds coverage nicely and smells good.

boots no7, lift & luminate. I prefer it to DW and i think i even prefer it to fusion, plus its much cheaper. Its £16 I think

yazzy85 · 17/09/2015 15:20

At the moment I really like Boots Stay Perfect foundation, my skin is combination with an oily t-zone and this works well with a primer...plus the clour match is spot on for a change Smile

chipsandpeas · 17/09/2015 15:24

My favs are Mac face and body or the new Bobbi brown serum one both give great coverage with little liquid used

bonnuit · 17/09/2015 17:32

Thanks everyone!

MAC Face and Body has been on my list for a while, I just need to get to a counter but I'll investigate the bare minerals tomorrow.

Its bad getting this excited about foundation!
