Hunter Wellies

Have struggled to find boots that look nice for years.

I find myself wanting to buy Hunter wellies, what style should I go for? My legs are out of proportion with the rest of me, v thin and long. I wear jeans designed for 6ft but I am only 5.8.

Hunters look nice but as wellies they're bobbins, imo

I think the quality has gone downhill now production has moved overseas- OH's ones don't even stand up, the rubber is so crap

I need replacements so am placemarking in case someone comes along to suggest an alternative

Hunters are a cheap fashion welly now. They used to be well made but now are made in china cheap rubbish. Mine lasted less than six months. OK if you want to be part of the in-crowd at a festival or two but if you want actual boots to wear look elsewhere. If you have a riding shop near you go in there and try on some different brands. I have Aigle and v pleased with them.

Hunters are rubbish - ditto other comments. I have Joules wellies - they are very comfortable and warm, but are for light wear/country walks.

If you need hard wearing wellies (for everyday use at stables etc), go for something else.

Aigle or Chameau. Can be expensive but last for years and are very comfortable.

I had Hunters ten years ago and they were well made but uncomfortable. It took 3 years just to wear them in.

I've heard that the quality is crap now.
I would go for some leather shaped boots if you want practical and stylish. DuBarry were the brand I've been lusting after.

My hunters leaked after 6 months, bought a pair of Aigles are the differeence is remarkable.

As others said, Hunters are cheap chinese made rubbish nowadays. When manufactured in Britain they were made from a single piece or rubber, now they are bits glued together, which is why they split.

Anyone remember Come Outside on CBeebies, when Auntie Mabel visited the Hunter factory in England? My kids are old so it was about 15 years ago, but that factory is long gone.....

Thats sad to hear about Hunters. I have a pair of my aunts Hunters in my porch that are older than me and still going strong- and im 23!
