Please help me find a tweed jacket / blazer

It's crunchy leaf time and I have a hankering for a nice fitted tweed blazer.

Joules have this which is definitely along the right lines, but made of jersey I think, and I'd prefer something with more weight to it: www.joules.com/Women/Jackets-Coats/Olivia/Womens-Single-Breasted-Jersey-Tweed-Blazer/Caper-Tweed?id=T_OLIVIA|CAPRTWD

I'm fairly tall (5'9''), size 14, and very large of boob (43 inches, which normally matches up with a size 18-20 Hmm). I think I have to go single breasted because of boobage.

Do I need to be looking at country outfitter type stores? Know nothing about this!

Any ideas, anyone?

I'm thinking of buying this one from h and m

not great quality, but for this price it may be worthy it. I'm open to suggestions, as I don't know where to look for one.

There is a lovely company called Walker Slater who have tweed jackets. They have shops in London and Edinbgurgh. They are more expensive than Joules but the quality is much better. I have the Emma jacket, it's beautiful, really suits some curves, I'm a 14 too.

Edinburgh, for goodness sake!!

I've seen that H&M one in store and it's really nice. But watch the sizing as it comes up small, especially on the arms.

Timothy Foxx have some nice tweed stuff

Both Boden and Brora have some nice tweed jackets this autumn. The Brora one is expensive (about £325 I think) and I've yet to pull the trigger on the order but it looks lovely! Boden, cheaper and it had it's first outing yesterday!

Next are apparently doing Harris Tweed! Navy or olive. And you can put it on account.

The Joules one is made of jersey which I'm not keen on in the tweed. I think the Next Harris Tweed is very nice.

My mum just bought one in M&S...

claptomania · 16/09/2015 14:11

Oh wow the Walker Slater jackets are beautiful - thanks mrsrhod. And lots of other great suggestions. Yay.

If it helps, I've one from h&m bought about 3 years ago. Also a wool mix, similar to the one linked. I get lots of wear out of it at this time of year and it was a great buy for the price.

Stepawayfromthezebras · 17/09/2015 12:44

Edinburgh woolen mill do Harris tweed. Jack Wills also did a really nice tweed blazer last year, they might have something similar this year.

PetiteBateau · 17/09/2015 12:54

Topshop have one. It has elbow patches & that might not appeal to some.

TheSpottedZebra · 17/09/2015 12:56

Maybe also have a look at the Ines de la Fressange range in Uniqlo.

I'm looking for a tweed blazer for winter too. I have the Joules one in navy but it's more of a summer/spring jacket IMO. It's really comfy and looks good but I would never wear it in the winter as it's better suited to cropped trousers/rolled up legs with sock-less footwear.

Thank you for that...now I am desperate for an Emma jacket. Talk about flipping gorgeous and perfect for curves. Goddammit can we live on smart Price noodles for a month

I like their little tweed teddy bears too...am really not a cuddly-toy-buying adult, but I kind of want one Hmm
