How do you dress differently/alternative at work?

I work in an office and I would like to "stand out" a little bit more without standing out too much if that makes sense.

Whether your style is goth or high fashion, I would like some ideas about how you stand out from the crowd at work without standing out like a sore thumb...

I usually dress pretty conservatively in boring dark colours and drapey cuts but as a petite woman I feel like I'm making myself blend into the background too much. I read an article once saying that people who dress slightly quirkily are actually perceived as being more senior, or something along those lines.

How do you get away with letting your individuality show in a corporate/officey/workplace environment?

I like vintage but at work I go for vintage/preppy. I love rich colours like teal, burgundy and purple. Charity shops work out great for jackets and vintage costume jewellery. I don't think I'm mega stylish or anything, and I work alongside some really well dressed people, but this helps me inject a bit of personality in to our conservative dress code.

I'm wearing a green and navy dress with bright green boots and a navy smart cardigan. I'm dresses conservatively, no cleavage and wearing tights but I'm definitely brighter

I am not super exciting in the way I dress, but if I'm wearing a black dress then I will wear bright tights with it, I have purple, mustard, green etc. Sometimes it is nice to wear unusual shoes or a bright jacket to take away from the muted colour palette that is most offices.

It's very easy to just wear black or beige and disappear into the background. If it was cooler I'd be wearing a scarf with this outfit too
