Mike removal - share your experiences please (with pics)

I have two small moles on my face, and have just emailed skn (?) to book a consultation to get them removed.
I've had them all my life as far (as I can remember!) but although they are small they really bother me, and are the first thing I see when I look at a photo of my face.
Have any of you had moles removed? How much did it cost and how much scarring is there??
How long did it take for them to heal?

Are they moles? They don't look like it (or are they covered in make-up?)

They are definitely moles. They just don't have any pigment like most do.
They have been mistaken for spots. Someone once asked if they could have a squeeze!!

The first thing I see is your great teeth and smile!

I had a mole removed from my neck on the NHS. The scar is pretty bad tbh. No experience of facial Mike removal.

I had a mole on the side of my nose. Like yours raised and round. I used to joke that I didn't need me nose pierced I could just paint it gold.

Before I got married my dad out of the blue offered to pay to get it removed. It was done under a local, took about 15 minutes, was painless. there was a tiny stitch in the place where it had been, which lasted about a week and was then removed and pretty much invisible straight away. No scar.

The mole was in the shadow/line by the nose, so easy to hide the stitch. It was also done by a plastic surgeon, the gp suggested him as it was a facial mole.

No idea as to cost, it was 16 years ago and I think it was £60 -£100 for initial consultation (private) and then about £200 for removal??

Maybe remembering that totally wrong though.

Oh and the mole had no root. Apparently they can have deep roots which make them harder to remove tidily.

My mum had hers done on the NHS, though back in the 80s. Like the PP, the scar was a small fine line which faded very quickly.

I had a similarly sized mole removed from my cheek. I had it done by a plastic surgeon, it cost about 800 pounds. There is a faint line where it was but I wouldn't call it a scar.

I guess they won't know about roots until they take a knife to them
I think the scar for the upper one will disappear into my nasolabil fold, and the lower one I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed.
So I should see my GP first? I wasn't going to bother, they've been there, same size and colour, forever. This is entirely cosmetic

I had a small mole removed from my eyebrow on the NHS. I went to the docs and said it was bothering me (selfconscious of it) and he booked me in for removal.

Local anaesthetic, a lovely nurse who held my hand through the procedure, I was wheeled back in a wheelchair (fgs! - as I'd had anaesthetic), small stitches which healed quickly and the scar soon faded.

I had two of these moles on my face. One under my eye and one on my cheek. I used Dermatend and there is no sign of either of them now! I wanted to have them removed for so long but Nhs wouldn't do it and I couldn't afford private. Still can't believe a tube of cream off the internet is all it took!
Good luck op I'm sure you won't regret it. I didn't realise how much my moles affected my confidence until they were gone.

Beautiful smile and teeth!

I had a mole on my back removed (like you, mine have no pigment).

I now have a very visible shiny, pink, raised scar (10 years old at least). Admittedly it was my GP who did it (not a specialist) but I'd never have one removed from my face unless there was a cancer risk.

Crikey miss it looks like you were lucky.
I googled excited, thinking there's a miracle and the first thing that came up was an FDA product recall on it.

Is the scar bigger than the mole was? And do you know what method was used to remove it?
This will be my second cosmetic surgery, and I am anxious about risk vs reward

I did all the research before I used it dun and I knew it was a risk but I balanced it in my mind with risks of surgery scarring and infection. (My moles were much more prominent than yours). It has been a complete miracle for me and yes I was lucky to get it before it was recalled . I still would have preferred affordable surgical removal but hey ho, they are gone and I am happy
