Is this dress OK for a Christening?

I am honoured to be invited to be Godmother to my friend's little DS for a Christening next month.

It will be a full church service, with possibly a small 'do' afterwards. Traditional Christening.

What do people think of this dress:

I love the dress, but is it too 'look at me'? I'm in my late 30s, mother of the baby same age, and judging by her attire in previous christenings would wear something of a similar level of smartness.

What do people think?

Very pretty.

It's lovely, and what a great price! How much is their shipping?

polyhymnia · 12/09/2015 14:34

Very nice and you can avoid it looking over the top by dressing it down a bit with accessories etc so it doesn't look as if you're off to a wedding.

Ooh glad you like it - not too glam or over the top then?

It says free shipping - but I'm a bit nervous of buying a dress that I haven't tried on. I've put on weight recently, have a bloated tummy due to bad endo, so I'm wary of getting it wrong.

That's why I like it though, will hide my bloated belly but emphasise the fact that I have a small waist despite my huge belly!

I like the green but I have some lovely blue 1940s style heels that would look perfect with the blue one. Mind you I've been looking for an excuse to buy green shoes, but no idea where I'd find any!

I have loads of accessories - but would need some sort of shrug / cardigan I spose - it's in October after all.

Any suggestions?

Oooooooh that's lovely, really love the purplish blue one

There are loads of lovely variations on the same style - nice polka dot one, and a lovely 3/4 length sleeve one. Nice broderie anglaise one too.

If it fits, I may just buy a few different ones!!
