Can I fling Converse in the wash?

Just that really. Can I fling converse into the washing machine? Will it either a) ruin my washing machine or b) ruin the converse?

Bear in mind I'm more than fond of my washing machine. Seriously, I am. Grin

I did it! I think I put them in a pillow case though so they didn't bang about. They came out lovely and white.

Curiouserandcuriouser30 · 12/09/2015 13:10

Yes, I do it all the time. I just chuck them in with a load of stuff I'm not too precious about (similar colours to the converse) so they don't bang about, and they come out lovely and clean!

Oh thank you both!! Great. DD's converse are STINK as well as filthy. Will wash them this very evening.

Totally! Do it all the time.

missmartha · 12/09/2015 17:07

Just fling them in. It's the way I do mine.

AnonymousBird · 12/09/2015 17:22

Definitely! All our canvas shoes go in, with towels is good as it tends to get them cleaner (perhaps not white towels!)

SuckingEggs · 12/09/2015 21:44

What temperature, please?

Mumtodogs · 12/09/2015 22:20

Absolutely!!! I have had a pair of converse for ...omg...feeling old .....24 years! Sling them in on a 30 wash now and then and theyre great !

SuckingEggs · 12/09/2015 22:50

Brilliant! Thanks Smile

I washed my all black hi tops (I spilled coffee on them ) in laundry bags with some dark towels.

Did a 30c wash , hung them on the line. Fine.

Eyeing up DDs grubby white Converses now................

Turquoisedance · 13/09/2015 00:20

This is great news, means I can finally get a white pair Smile which I've always stayed clear of till now.

lurkingabit · 13/09/2015 10:33

I have over 20 pairs of Cons. They can go in the wash as long as they're not painted.....I had a pair with a painted motif and now they're just plain....Sad

LIZS · 13/09/2015 16:19

I posted on here a few weeks ago and washed them with some trepidation in the machine. Came up really well but took a while to dry out.

lurkingabit · 13/09/2015 19:23

Converse washed and looking perfect. Will let them dry and see. They look fine tho.
