getting a "modern" perm?

I am Of A Certain Age and had perms in the 90s as a teenager, tbh I loved it as was so easy to manage

I have wavy thick hair bordering on frizzy, I can never be arsed to straighten it so generally I tie it back

I am growing it and want to wear it down, I am sure I have read somewhere that perms are coming back. ...I would love to emphasise my natural curl, I wouldn't want a 90's sort of spiral perm. so wanted to ask on here if anyone has one? and what would you actually even ask your hair dresser for?

a digital perm, but I don't know any hairdressers that do them, apart from pricy London based salons..
