Bare essentials face and Bella Pierre cheeks and lip make up? Now what do I do?

I've got primer, bare essentials foundation and veil and Bella Pierre rose blush powder , illuminating bronzer and lip stain. Three nice brushes.

I'm flying out to Tenerife for my wedding next week. Do you think I can learn how to do a flawless make up intime for my big day

Any tips please?

If my face gets a bit brown I have an Avon one ican mix the foundation with that's a bit darker but I got medium beige

I've always used a fluid foundation so am more than a Bit nervous.

Don't want to look like a painted lady, overdone. Aaaargh!

If the shades are correct for your coloring, mineral is quite natural looking. On me, it is really longwearing too, better than any liquid foundation. Start practising right away, it took me about a week to get the hang of buffing (not using too much or too little mineral foundation) and to see how well it lasts. Watch youtube videos to get the hang of it. I set mineral foundation with a water spray. Snap a lot of selfies and be careful if you are contouring - less is more.

Oh and mineral makeup + sunscreen can be a bit chalky if you are using a sunscreen that is heavy on physical sunscreens. So do test first.

Thanks for the tip about YouTube videos. Yes I shall do that.

Do you normally wear moisuriser under the primer. I hope this works on 60 year old skin.

Dowser I'm 40+. I wear a serum under mineral makeup. It's smart to wait 10 to 30 min before buffing or it will clog up your kabuki. I love mineral makeup.

Dowser · 10/09/2015 22:18

Kabuki?

Will have to google that.

Serum? Is that mainly oil. I've got loads of that.

Japanese dance?

That can't be right.

Ah a brush! I have three of those.

They say a day without learning is a day wasted.

Done! Will have to watch the video at home as i couldnt play it here. I didn't know where to Put the bronzer so I put it under my cheekbones and downthe sides of my nose.

The blusher I put on top of my cheekbones and at the sides of my eyes. Takes ages. Didn't expect the primer to be clear but it felt nice.

Really hard as I need to wear reading glasses. What felt like not much was going on, I suddenly look like there's loads of it.

It's all to do with the layers I think. I don't normally wear eye make up so I'll have to have a practice with that.

Dowser you need a few applications to figure out how minute amouts to apply so that you won't feel chalky and cakey. At best mineral makeup just sort of airbrushes slightly uneven coloring. It can accentuate wrinkles though (I avoid my undereye area) so that's why you'll need a few practice runs. Also snap some photos, sometimes it can cause flashback.

Dowser · 11/09/2015 18:46

Oh. I have concealer which I thought was for under eye.

Have I made big mistake. I have fine lines....ok wrinkles then?

Well I'm never going to look 21 again but I think I've done a cracking job with the make up.
So, the usual slap for day time use and then a bit. More effort for my wedding day.

Sorted!

Ive been really poorly last few days. But with make up on I have scrubbed up quite well....well I think so anyway.
