Hardy Work Appropriate Boots

Hey,

I have a major problem with wearing down the heels of my boots and I do a lot of walking. Looking for recommendations for boots that might be able to withstand this for an extended period of time to save me constantly buying cheap pairs.

Get thee to a cobbler and get them reheeled?

MysteriousSummer · 09/09/2015 21:42

Not sure if you can do that if they've been worn down kind of on one side. I always wear down the right side of the heels and not the other. I end up walking lopsided.

Will ask though Smile

You could see a podiatrist and get an insert that evens up the way you place your foot in your shoe. It will cost you to start but you won't wear your shoes down so quickly.

I had a pair I thought were beyond repair and paid ??20 to get them sorted - I've worn them for another year so worth it. Only ever buy shoes with a block heel that can be repaired when you wear them a lot - I learned the hard way ...

The insoles do work well.

As long as you get them repaired before the heel wears too far, it doesn't matter how they are worn, iykwim. IME you will never get shoes with soles that won't wear away if you have an uneven walk - the pressure is too much on the bit that wears.

Get them re-heeled. The new heels will usually last much longer than the ones that are first fitted to shoes.
