Thoughts on quality of John Lewis bags?

I am searching for the holy grail handbag for work. I plan to use it all the time so it will certainly get plenty of wear and needs to be able to stand up to commuting etc. I saw this on the John Lewis website from their own brand John Lewis Collection. Anyone know what quality/durability is like? I am in the US so will have to pay for shipping and returns if I don't like it so I'm not keen to go ahead unless I'm more certain what it'll be like.

Their quality is very good - as good as any of my Mulberry bags

No bag but have a JL purse and it's fab quality. Is about 3 years old and pristine even with daily use.

My John Lewis bag is still going strong after 5 years. I have found the quality of the leather isn't as good on newer bags now, so I definitely recommend you have a feel of the bag in store if possible.

I've had to take the same bag (different actual bags but same style iyswim) back to JL five times now. I love the style so much but the screws have popped out, the leather has become unglued, the stitching has come undone... They won't give me a refund because DH bought it for me and lost the receipt, otherwise I might've given up now even though I love it. It's the vintage top handle grab bag on their website, can't do links atm. I would be wary, if I were you.

I've had a couple and the quality of leather is excellent. I give my bags quite a bashing and these both look good after about three years. The only thing I would say is that the linings/interiors are a bit, well, basic and drab; I like a good looking lining in a nice fabric. That looks like a nice bag btw
