How to wear cropped trousers to work in winter

I have worn cropped trousers of various types for the past six months and really want to continue them into the winter but is that possible? Would nude pop socks be okay or patterned black ones? Or do I need long boots? Or any other ideas please?

Argyle socks and brogues. The clarkes ones are garnering rave reviews.

Nb am imagining ankle grazers rather than craghopper walking type.

Oooh, I like that idea. Off to add cute brogues to my birthday wish list (which is getting v long and unwieldy).

Yes, ankle grazers!

I need to dress fairly conservatively for work though so this look sounds great for play but not for work.

M&S do "ankle high" fishnets which I wear with brogues and cropped trews.

Which Clark's ones? I've been a after a pair of loafers and really like the look of the Clark's ones, but the reviews are terrible

brogues

Love my Hambloe Oaks, they are the best brogues, I only have black but would like other colours. Fancy some argyle socks to wear with my ankle grazer trousers now.

Oooh, love the Pewter ones!!
