Donyoy know of a nail polish this colour?

I want nails this colour.

I actually own both the polishes in the photo and they don't like this at all .

Can anyone recommend a very dark vampy wine-y burgundy. Red rather than purple. No brown undertones. Is obviously dark red rather than looking totally black. Would prefer not metallic.

Anyone?

How many coats are you applying op? I think that colour might need three thinner ones.

Chataigne is too dark. Looks black in the photos

Midnight in Moscow has strong brown tones that I dislike.

Did I mention I was fussy....?!

Am assuming rouge noir is discounted already??? Oldie but always my go to for this kind of shade.

Chanel Rouge Noir would be my suggestion too. A cheaper alternative could be Nails Inc Victoria.

And I don't think they'll ever discontinue Rouge Noir - it's a classic!

I'm gonna buy Rouge Noir and maybe the Nails Inc one too. Have spotted one by L'Oreal called Haute Couture Red which looks really close to what I'm after. Will try to hunt it down.

I have Sole Mate and it's straight up purple on me. No red at all.

Also, look at Crabtree & Evelyn 'Pomegranate'

Rouge Noir is a lovely colour for about 5 mins but chips ridiculously easily. Really wouldn't recommend it...

Good to know myrtle. I've bought the L'oreal one which I think looks like a very close dupe but has much better reviews.

The pinkie and the other finger are OPI Black Cherry Chutney.

I know Chester. I have both of them and they don't look anything like the photo! They're flat looking - nowhere near as vibrant.

I would say the nails in the photo look like cnd vinylux dark lava too

Do you use a top coat on your polish? It looks like there's a high shine top coat used on the picture which might make it look less flat.

Yeah Westie I always use a top coat. And I do at least two, usually three coats until I get full opacity.

I think photos of nails online are often filtered/shopped. I have bought loads of polished based on pics I've seen on google that have turned out to be nothing like they looked. It's frustrating!

Anyway, the CND one is too purple. The search continues!
