This may be impossible, but here goes. Looking for dress, suitable for corporate working environment, with sleeves (length of sleeves flexible), about knee length, but most importantly with pockets (essential for networking as otherwise have nowhere to put business cards) - preferably in colour other than black. Size 16/18 but must accommodate 36G chest.

Would pay up to £250 for right dress.

I have a dress from Jaeger (sorry, can't do a link), new season called the Compact Tailoring V neck dress. It is on the knee (maybe too long for you?) but has neat pockets on both sides that are very discreet but would be perfect for business cards. £199. Comes in 4 lovely colours ( I have the bright red one, it has been much admired...)

Ooh - that looks like a possibility. Can I ask how tall you are? I'm just under 5'8" so issue is more having dress which is long enough....

I am 5 ft 6 ins, and the dress is (just) on my knee. I would like it if it was a bit longer (my knees are not fit to be seen). Length is 98 cm from back.

You might like to look at a dress on the Jaeger Outlet website, called the Classic Shift dress, in colour Peach Blossom. This is longer (108 cm from centre back), and on me covers my knees, and is about 2ins below. It is £99.00 and seems to be available in all sizes at the moment. The colour is really gorgeous. Again, it has 2 small pockets, perfectly placed. Very well cut, and the wool crepe fabric is lovely and does not crease.

I am a 36 D, and both these dresses are fine/a bit roomy at bust level on me.

Thanks for all the suggestions! There's a Jaegar outlet not too far from where I work so will be heading along at lunchtime to have a nosy.

Lands End do dresses with pockets. Might be worth a look but not sure they are formal enough for you as all seem to be printed with patterns

do people still use business cards? Shock

keely79 · 10/09/2015 09:56

Thanks all - and yes, people in my field do still use business cards - especially at networking events...
