What would you wear to this interview?

I've just been offered an interview for tomorrow morning. I have a standard pencil skirt, blouse, jacket and heels outfit I wear to most interviews, but this one is for a soft play place and I think I'd be really overdressed.

Any thoughts on what might be better?

What role there?

MrsFionaCharming · 07/09/2015 21:28

I'm not sure, the advert was on Facebook and said there was a range of roles so I don't know if they're interviewing me for a particular one. They're all front of house, party running, activities and reception type things - not administration or management.

dress like the mums who will be coming there with their kids. Can you park up near by and have a look at what the customers are wearing?

I would err on the side of smart - for the actual job you're more likely to be in practical clothes, but I think it's always good to make the effort for an interview. Your outfit idea sounds great. Good luck!

Tend to agree. Smart for the interview. The actual job may involve wearing a t shirt or polo shirt.

Ooops. Good luck. Your interview was today .

hellsbellsmelons · 08/09/2015 10:24

That all sounds fine for the interview.
I would go in very smart.
1st impressions and all that!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 08/09/2015 11:35

I'm not sure I would go for a pencil skirt and heels. I'd say black trousers, smart flats and a shirt or blouse. Good luck!

MrsFionaCharming · 09/09/2015 23:28

Thanks all!
I did end up swapping the skirt and heels for trousers and flats, still felt a little over dressed being interviewed by someone wearing jeans.
Should hear by the end of the week.

Fingers crossed for you.

I work in IT and most of the guys are scruffy on a day-to-day basis. They were all recently reinterviewed for their jobs, and I couldn't recognise most of them in their suits!
