Where to buy Retin A?

Hello,

Can anyone recommend where to buy Retin A please? I realise you are supposed to get it prescribed but I don't have acne, but have read that it is very good for keeping your skin looking good (I would use 0.025%).

I know a lot of people buy it online, so looking for a seller who is reliable and sells the real thing. I would be using it to reverse signs of aging, sunspots, etc.

Any advice would be more than welcome! Thank you.

I buy it from ebay, from healthnbeautyexpress or ap-healthcare. Not had any problems with either seller, usually arrives in a week from Thailand. Products have always appeared genuine, I've had the lovely peeling to show for it!

Paula's Choice (discover this site if you haven't already) sells a stellar product! It's a 1% clinical retinol treatment cream and it has made a difference to my skin. It hasn't erased lines, but has improved their appearance as well as the quality of my skin. I use it with an AHA lotion once weekly, over night- also by Paula's Choice. Highly recommended and affordable.

I've recently started using retain A from Pharmacy Geoff - from singapore. Very fast delivery and the tube was only 6.99. I can already see the peel skin!

Agree - Paula's Choice has some excellent stuff and everything else I plaster on my face is theirs.

I'm getting lovely results from this Neutrogena night cream. Thought I'd just try it and didn't have high hopes but it's making things much smoother after four or five weeks and it's cheap. The only thing I don't know is the strength of the retinol. I may invest in a more heavyweight PC retinol when it's all gone now I know that my skin tolerates it.

Wicked fairy , start off every other night , cleanse face as normal then wait 20-30 mins , apply a pea size amount avoiding eyes , nose and lip area (this avoids irritation ) I apply a moisturiser half hour later ie cetaphil or Nivea blue pot ) cerave is highly recommended too . Don't acid tone at the same time especially sacyillic as it can irritate , just do your normal routine the other nights and morning , I have seen good results :) expect a little bit of occasional peeling which sloughs off with a warm flannel , stop if experience redness or soreness , take it slow and gentle hope this helps

I have read that retin a can thin the skin - have you heard this/had any problems yourself?

I am late 30's, no acne but looking to get rid of fine lines and sun damage. However, I don't want to actually damage my skin any more! I presume once or twice a week would be ok? Or would that not be enough? Thanks for your advice!

Can you use retin a for fine under eye lines? Also would it help fine forehead lines?

Wicked fairy . How it works is it thins the outer layer to help with skin turnover whilst thickening the new skin underneath to make it look healthier and plumper , so no it doesn't technically 'thin' the skin
Frank .. It has helped with my forehead lines but I wouldn't recommend for close to the eye although once your skin can tolerate it every night I have read you can but be careful ( I've not tried it though !

Oh and the most important thing is a 50 spf every day as skin is more sun sensitive ! I've tried loads from mega expensive and the best I've found is boots soltan for face ! No white cast , no bobbling up and a good moisturiser:)

That's Drama - I use spf50 everyday already, so should be sorted with that. Thanks for the explanation re skin thinning - does sound quite so bad if it helps new skin growth!!

Thanks itsalldramarama I won't try it for my under eye area. Can anyone recommend a product that's good for that area?

CadiM - have checked out those shops and neither are selling any retin a. Could you link me to them please - not sure if I have looked at the wrong place!

I just ordered some from ebay. I was prescribed the cream in my mid 30's (mid 40's now) and progessed on to Roaccutane for bad acne of more than 20 years. Whilst that was not a 'fun' course of treatment, it worked really well for me. Now that I am peri-menopausal my skin is becoming hormonal again. So I'm going to use this sparingly.
