What shoes / boots with skinnies for winter?

Mid-40s, permanently cold so I have to be able to wear socks without looking stupid... please help. Ankle boots? Brogues? Long boots?

I wear biker boots and thick socks, and Uggs, though they're probably controversial.

I wear flat biker style boots. By blowfish. I find them really comfy.

I've just bought some from Helly Hansen on the clearance page half price. I'm so looking forward to trying them when they arrive I've waited nearly two years to afford these boots. They're high calf/knee length.

Ash Gang boots for me this year, in midnight and in black. I tend to wear my skinnies long and turn up, rather than tuck in to ankle boots.
