Think the idea is that it's to help you remember to clench in your core. I've got a corset, it does work in that respect but its makes me feel really squashed, so I haven't used it much.

WhataRacquet · 05/09/2015 12:21

I don't think it would be good for your internal organs.

ZaraW · 05/09/2015 12:29

I wouldn't touch it personally, after seeing the photos with the Kardashians using them put me off and I agree with whataraquet how can it be good for your internal organs?

I think it just keeps you engaging your core, like a version of pilates, really.

After I had my second baby, my sister (who is a pilates instructor) told me to keep sucking in my lower abdominal muscles whenever I remembered...sitting down watching TV, in bed, in the bath etc (she knows I am an exercise phone, or was then anyway). It definitely improved my stomach muscles. I think 'waist training' is the same thing, really.

I do/did it. Have been for ages, have had great results! Make sure you get the right size and it's perfectly safe, the horror stories are from people getting ones that are too small, they should be snug but not corset tight if you see what I mean. I have a workout one which I use too.

It engages your core really, that's kind of it as far as I know, hence the smaller, more toned waist you get from it. Also it improves posture which makes you look slimmer too.

However, it is of course only really effective in conjunction with a healthy eating and exercise plan, it won't really work terribly well on it's own.

RachelZoe please can you post some links to the ones you have used.

Many thanks

RavioliOnToast · 06/09/2015 12:18

Yeah I'm interested also, I must admit. Id like to thank it'd help me eat less, with the physical band around my tummy reminding me to stop being a pig!

This one for normal (it has straps and is a vest, I prefer it, more comfy that way I think)

This one for workouts

Please check their size guide and buy appropriately, lots of people buy ones that are too small and that's not ideal.

There are also cheaper versions of these around the internet too, I think they're all the same really.

Swampmonster39 · 06/09/2015 21:29

Thank you. Will have a look now.

RavioliOnToast · 06/09/2015 22:30
