Sixties party

I am quite a curvy 40+ lady and I need to try and dress "60's" for a party soon. Mini skirts and tight outfits pretty much out of the question, and not much budget to spend... any ideas please?!

Try charity shops for shift style dress, back comb hair, lots of dark eye make up a la Dusty Springfield, frosted pink lips and knee high boots if you have some or some low heeled pumps/Mary janes?

You could go for early 1960s a la Mad Men which is actually closer to a 50s style than the iconic 60s look.

Or you could go for capri pants. Something like this would be easy to achieve.

There are a lot of dresses in Coast at the moment that could be styles to look very 'mad men'. You said curvy so I'm thinking Joan Holloway. It's all in the hair, make up and accessories.
