How to stop static cling

I've just bought a gorgeous dress than has a skirty bit that is lined but it's very staticky and the lining is sticking to my legs then the dress is clinging to the lining! How can I stop the cling!?

Hairspray or body lotion - rub body lotion onto legs and a bit onto the inside of the skirt and lining just what's on your hands after you've rubbed the cream in a bit from your legs. If you do it lightly it doesn't mark the fabric. I prefer the later as you don't smell funny.

wash in fabric softener

Fabric softener and hair spray - I bought some anti static spray but don't think it's any better than Elnett (& much more expensive)

Thanks! I'll give it a try!

I use this spray from John Lewis: www.johnlewis.com/eddingtons-anti-static-spray-250ml/p703058

Works brilliantly.

Or an underskirt (petitcoat?)
But agree, hairspray can help. Not always though!
