Pre Holiday Shave

So I did a good old defluff - legs, pits and bits - the other day. Bought new razors and shaving foam and all silky smooth.

Now I have to shave before we go on hol on sat and I'm at that spiky stubbly stage. Should be fine with pits and legs. It's the bits Im worried about - getting those horrid sore shaving spots.

Any suggestions? Thanks

Sudocream!! Blather it on before bed daily, stops me getting a rash. Only just discovered this as I had stubble, shaved and then got a rash. Tried the sudocream and by the morning everything was fine and no irritation :)

moopy So between now and Fri just slap some on and cream it in?

Yes just put it on every night even after you shave too. I've had no rash at all, normally after 1 day I get stubble and an itchy rash but I've been fine since. It's so much better as I can shave every other day if I want to where as before I'd have to wait 4 days so the area wasn't inflamed from the rash!

I've just started waxing too. Waxed my arms and eyebrows and must say it's painless and a much better result. I bought a pack of 20 strips for £1 and cut one up to do my eyebrows, must have used 1/5th of a strip and they are perfect :)

cjt110 · 03/09/2015 06:39

Where did you get the strips from Moopy?

Another vote for Sudocrem here! I love the stuff, it works like a charm! :-)

I do mine immediately after. Usually before bed. Slap it on and rub it in. Don't worry, by morning any irritation will have died down and vanished. I would take some with you on holiday. You can scoop some out of the big tub and transfer it into a smaller one to take with you in your case, that way you can keep on top of the shaving without having to worry about the redness etc. Happy holiday!! I go on 12th Sept and will be taking my little tub with me!

cjt110 · 03/09/2015 12:10

Thanks Vix, will give it a whirl Fri night. :) Where are you off to? We're off to Gran Canaria child free I might add!

I always get spots when shaving some areas, and last year I discovered The Cool Fix. It's a little expensive but seriously, put it on after you've shaved and they don't appear at all! It's my holy grail product now. See if you could get it next day delivery off Amazon. Nothing else works for me. No I don't work for them Grin

ComeInBaldrick · 03/09/2015 12:56

Ooh, just seen that you're going to Gran Canaria. Me too- on Monday :)

Smurfingreat · 03/09/2015 13:08

Tend Skin - the stuff is amazing. I always suffered from razor bumps and ingrowing hairs on my bikini line which looked worse than the hair. It's not the cheapest but lasts forever. I've also just decanted some into a small roller ball aromatherapy bottle to take on holiday which will only take up a tiny amount of space in my wash bag.

We're staying in Meloneras at the Lopesan Baobab. You? So excited :)

cjt110 · 03/09/2015 15:00

The Baobab is beautiful Baldrick We considered it for our honeymoon but booked a villa instead. It does kind of look like a spaceship too. Have you been to Meloneras before? It's great! It'll be our 5th time to GC, we're staying at the Sheraton Salobre in Aguineguin (about 10 minutes car journey from Meloneras). We went in June with our DS but he was poorly and didnt like the heat so thought we'd go back and experience it again just us.
