Is there someone like Bravissimo for trousers

So Duo (or whatever they call themselves these days) do boots for wide calves, Bravissimo do tops for big boobs .... Does anyone do trousers for chunky calves?

I desperately need new work trousers - slim leg chinos are ideal for the type of work I do but I can't find any to go over my lower legs! I am not particularly fat (14) but do have very high and pronounced calf muscles (partly genetic, partly because I have always been quite sporty).

I have tried - M&S, Next, FatFace, Boden, Dotty P and Gap. All get stuck on my calfs. Lands end would probably work, but v frumpy cut and "meh" colours.

I work out on building sites, riverbanks and in the countryside a lot, but also in the office with suppliers, and have days where I can be in and out office/field. Smart casual chinos (easy to tuck into wellies too) and a nice shirt seems the ideal solution, and it works really well - but I only have one pair of chinos that fit, and they are getting tatty. They were from Sainsbury's s few years ago, they don't have anything similar now.

I am fairly slim but have chunky legs but find sandwich a good fit <a class="break-all" href="http://www.gemini-woman.co.uk/brands/sandwich-clothing#,p:1,d:Trouserswww.houseoffraser.co.uk/Women/BRAND_SANDWICH_03,default,sc.html?redirectQuery=sandwich#www.houseoffraser.co.uk/Women/BRAND_SANDWICH" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">www.gemini-woman.co.uk/brands/sandwich-clothing#,p:1,d:Trouserswww.houseoffraser.co.uk/Women/BRAND_SANDWICH_03,default,sc.html?redirectQuery=sandwich#www.houseoffraser.co.uk/Women/BRAND_SANDWICH

Can you get Brax trousers in the UK? The do all sorts of styles, plain and patterned and various cuts.

I've just returned some items to Gudren Sjoden (wearing a new dress from them today). Exchanges and faulty items are free to return, but if you are returning for a refund there is a £10 charge. The parcel goes to Scotland. You just need to call UPS to book a pick up.

I got the Sigrid pants - VERY wide - no calf issues there.
I'd like to try some of the others. I have quite muscular calves too and could never wear skinny jeans.

I do like these jeans from M&S ; www.marksandspencer.com/roma-rise-straight-leg-denim-jeans/p/p60071026
They do sit a little snuggly on my calves but you can't tell by looking IYKWIM.

£10 for a refund! And no stockists near me. That kind of prevents my usual method of online clothes shopping of buying a few things to try on in different sizes.

Sorry, tried hard to get some English.

BikeRunSki · 04/09/2015 21:20

Thanks Pendant. I found a UK stockist here. They look like the could work, I'll try them next if it doesn't work out with Land's End.

Well, Bravissimo actually do trousers in the Pepperberry range. Presumably the 'super curvy' would work, or at least worth a try.

addictedtosugar · 05/09/2015 11:26

Arent pepperberry trousers for big hips rather than calves? Think super curvy would do small waist, larger hips \arse?

addictedtosugar · 05/09/2015 16:03

Actually, bike, what are your hips and are like? Would blokes trousers fit? Or could they be altered to fit? Probably have wider legs than ladies trousers.....

BikeRunSki · 05/09/2015 17:25

See. I'm curvy (too curvy for bloke's trousers unless I am about 2 stone lighter than I am now) but not curvy enough for Pepperberry.

I just have disproportionately big calves.

I mourn the passing of the bootleg, even though I looked awful in it.

"Arent pepperberry trousers for big hips rather than calves? "

Dunno, as I said, worth a try. I would imagine wider calves would follow wider hips.

addictedtosugar · 05/09/2015 18:43

Bootleg is not dead! Could cords work? Not sure if cotton would wash or keep you warm?

lavendersun · 05/09/2015 18:51

I never stopped wearing bootleg jeans and cords - helps to balance out my pear shape never been remotely with it. Definitely more of them about than there was for the last couple of years.

lavendersun · 05/09/2015 19:01

I usually buy my cords from Jaegar Outlet - they often have nice cuts which are more trouser than jean. Wash really well .... but cords not chinos.

BikeRunSki · 05/09/2015 19:06

So, I have looked at Pepperberry, and here is part of a review of their plain cotton trousers

"...these trousers are the poorest cut ever. I do not have wide calves but these would not pull up in a size 12. I sent them back after pepperberry staff advised it may have been a manufacturing fault. I reordered in a size 14 and the same thing again. The calves in the jeans would not pull up over mine.... Teeny tiny skinny calves needed for these jeans. "

So, that'll be a no then!

I've had some really good trousers from Sainsbury's in the past. I'm going to keep checking them. Yey for Tu being online now!

The thing about cords addicted is that they are not really very smart, and bootlegs don't tuck into wellies easily. I do wear cords out of work though (massively unstylish).

The Lands End ones have arrived. They are perfect!!!! Great quality, they fit and are flattering!! I have got grey and navy, can see me ordering more colours. Pricey, but I can see them lasting forever. Was nervous because I had some dreadful cords from LE last year that ended up at the charity shop after a couple of wears.
