Anyone have a tint & highlights?

My hairdresser is coming tonight to do highlights t-section. What bugs me is that my wiry greys are still visible afterwards. Should I ask for a tint first?
My natural hair is dark mousey brown with greys poling through albeit not hundreds.

Yes I get my roots done with a permenant dye and highlights
But I don't mind the slightly grown out look
Tints aren't permenant and maybe that's the problem?

I have a base colour a caramel midst light browband highlights. The base colour is permanent though. I have had toners put on my hair once or twice to help blend but they don't last very long.

I have foils for my highlights and when they're in, he goes over the hair that's not covered with another colour. He sort of stipples colour on the hair that's showing.
So, on my short hair, I might have two colours of blonde highlights with a pale caramel base.

I have a permanent tint and highlights, the roots are redone by my hairdresser every 6 weeks (I use a bit of root touch-up at 3 weeks) and the highlights are done every 6 4-6 months

Yes, me. Roots every 5 weeks, highlights every 3 months. Costs a bloody fortune and I wish I was brave enough to go grey.

My hairdresser does my highlights and base colour at the same time. She does the foils, then puts a different colour on everything else. I have the roots touched up with the base colour in between having both the roots and highlights done.

Yes I too have a tint, plus 'hairline' highlights which get renewed about every third time I get the tint refreshed.

Does anyone have a full head tint and then highlights on top?
My hair much greyer on the sides, so doesn’t cover as well with highlights even though I have loads of foils put in!
