Powder for oily skin

I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a long-lasting, matte powder for oily skin?

The Rimmel stay matte has great reviews on the boots website but most people say you need to reapply at least once a day and I'm really looking for something that will keep my shiny nose matte all day long.

Is this possible?

We use Corn Silk Translucent Original Satin Loose powder. It is a bit messy though.

I used to use mac blot powder which was ok but still needed to reblot within a couple of hours. I now use innisfree no sebum powder which is an Asian product that I buy through eBay. Around £3-4 and really does last all day and doesn't go cakey with liberal application

Mowglik if it lasts much longer than a MAC then I'm definitely going to give it a go, especially at that price! Smile I'll pop to boots and check out the corn silk too, thanks!

Also use neutrogena oil free moisturiser it's great stuff which you can now buy in Boots.

Grin I clicked to suggest the Innisfree no sebum powder but see mowglik has beaten me to it! It is good for the money Smile

Sounds interesting.DDs would like to be shine free all day.Do you have a link to your sellers please Mowglik and lucysmam. Most are in Korea and it's hard to know which one to pick.

I just ordered with beautynetkorea; a quick Google tells me they're reputable

Nars Light Reflecting powder/

Not as cheap as some of the other suggestions but it's brilliant and a pot last for ages.

iAmNicolaMurray · 27/08/2015 15:59

I use corn silk but will have a look at that imnisfree no sebum stuff too

lucysmam · 27/08/2015 16:25

Mine came from jolse_cosmetics on ebay. Samples of other stuff chucked in too (always good Grin ) and delivery took 2 ish weeks.

sonata1 · 27/08/2015 16:29

Thank you lucysmum. Does it come in a sifter pot and does it go everywhere when you open it? I am just clearing up the dust clouds of Corn silk as we speak !

mowglik · 27/08/2015 16:43

The innisfree comes in a softer pot but the pot is very sturdy so it doesn't seem to go everywhere. It has a puff that sits on top and that keeps it neat too

The corn silk is awful for going everywhere it's so messy! Def a keep at home one and even then requires a tissue underneath to contain spillage. I think the case is not very well made. It gives a lovely soft finish though doesn't stay Matte for long

sonata1 · 27/08/2015 16:56

Thanks Mowglick. My DD is going to order the Innisfree now as she struggles with oiliness. I have put a piece of cling film over my open corn silk and an elastic band round the neck of the pot to stop the stuff going everywhere. I can see small empty sifter pots for sale on ebay so think I will purchase a couple and decant a small amount to carry around. The large Corn Silk is definitely going to remain at home.

I'm not sure it is possible to stay may all day. In Lisa Eldridge's foundation for oily skin video, she talks about taking papers to blot during the day. So if she can't create makeup to stay matte all day, I don't think I as a mere mortal in makeup application have a chance Smile
