I've bought 90s style dungarees in black from asos will try and linn below.
I really like them with a loos Breton or basic plain tee and they are so comfortable.

I am so jealous!
I wore them all the time back on the day, and jumpsuits!
Best and most comfortable look!

Please carry on if you enjoy them
That's the most important thing about clothes.

MamaLazarou · 27/08/2015 10:56

I wear dungarees often and look totally hot in them. Go for it!

legolegolego · 27/08/2015 14:31

I only have short dungarees which I wear to death and will probably get some long ones for winter. I love them!

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 27/08/2015 18:09

I am very very old and still could not resist a pair, so far I mainly wear them at home for comfort and nostalgia, but I did pop out to the post office to pick up a parcel and the lady behind the desk went 'ooooh I love your dungarees they are soooo cute' I preened Grin work have booked an 80's night instead of an xmas meal so may bring them out in public and dress like a bananarama girl with head scarf an everything,

Judydreamsofhorses · 27/08/2015 19:17

I have the black Whistles ones and LOVE them. I wear Breton tops under mine, or blouses buttoned to the top, with either brogues and bare feet or Chelsea boots.

legolegolego · 27/08/2015 19:37

Do you think I could wear these with dungarees? Footwear if always what I struggle with when wearing them

PinkGeranium · 28/08/2015 10:27

good point Lego I only have trainers and Pinterest is full of the stiletto look which I have not way of pulling iff

I'm sure some will disagree Lego but I don't think those hoes go with dungarees. I love dungaree and wear a black pair from hm quite a lot at the mo but to avoid the workman look I Always wear a top which is pretty or girly in some way, jewellery, make up ands other heeled courts or sandals, or interesting flats, like leopard skate shoes or gladiator sandals. I think they would also work with heeled ankle boots

legolegolego · 28/08/2015 16:52

I think you're probably right googlers - you sound very cool too by the way!
I have leopard skate shoes so perhaps I will try those.

Googlers123 · 28/08/2015 20:29

Thanks Lego! Dreadful typos on my post though! Just been out for early dinner in my dungarees, they looked fab (in my opinion!), was wearing grey heeled suede ankle boots and the hems rolled up a bit.

legolegolego · 28/08/2015 21:49

Can you do us a look book of your wardrobe?! Grin

Googlers123 · 28/08/2015 21:56

???? I'm not sure anyone would want to see that really but thanks! I love fashion and style, there's definitely fun to be had in wearing different things and playing around with clothes

squicketysquack · 28/08/2015 21:56

Lego I wear mine with my leopard print skate (well skate style) shoes ????

legolegolego · 28/08/2015 21:59

I love fashion too. I'm trying to be more brave with my own outfit choices now though rather than just admiring everyone else's while I wear jeans and a striped tshirt Grin

Judydreamsofhorses · 28/08/2015 22:14

Lego I never wear heels with my dungarees (or actually ever) but I think you can avoid the workman look with makeup and accessories. The other day I wore mine rolled up with a leopard print top underneath and brogues with bare feet, and my usual red lipstick - a woman stopped me in John Lewis to say she liked my outfit. googler your styling sounds fabulous, it's great that dungarees are so versatile.

PinkGeranium · 07/09/2015 17:51

Me again- I am torn between the looser fit that I linked to above or the other asos style which is sightly more narrow and tapered in the leg from what I can tell- dungaree experts Judy and googlers, what do you think?
Is one more dressy than the other?

Googlers123 · 07/09/2015 18:40

Mine are the h&m ones which are fairly slim on the leg. I tried some baggier ones but I felt that they were more workmanlike and whilst a skinny twenty something could look great in them, I def look better in the slimmer ones, less workman and more lady IMO

Grok · 07/09/2015 20:58

You've inspired me! Am thinking now about getting those Asos ones you're looking at, pink geranium. Definitely need to spice up my wardrobe from stripes tops and skinny jeans! Also just had baby 4 weeks ago and need some non-pregnant clothes. You'll have to report back after yours arrive and tell us how they fit!

Judydreamsofhorses · 07/09/2015 22:03

Mine are the Whistles ones so fairly slim legged. I initially bought some from Topshop but they were really baggy on me and did remind me on the boiler suits my dad used to wear to work on the car when I was a kid! They were promptly returned and I sucked up the cost on the Whistles ones (with a discount code!). I have worn them absolutely loads and am looking forward to skinny-knit polo-necks and Chelsea boots with them for autumn/winter.

Love2dance · 08/09/2015 12:02

Jumping in. I too am in the grip of dungaree mania. I am also big of bum and thigh but small of waist so have stayed away from them for years...BUT, I saw a woman (maybe 40's, elegant, svelte) wearing some. She looked fab and I had to go up to her and say so. Turns out they are from Zara's current autumn range (none left in my local one but have ordered 2 sizes to try online). She told me they are a dupe for a Valentino pair (who knew?!). You can see them here. I would never have looked at these, but they did look really nice on. It remains to be seen whether I will get away with wearing them though...
Also love these from this US blogger, but sadly they are not current and seem to be sold out.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 08/09/2015 12:13

Asos have lots of styles. Any opinions on dungarees for the short and large of chest amongst us?

Love2dance · 09/09/2015 13:17

TooExtra, I don't see why not. I think it's a question of what you like and what suits your figure. I think those cut quite slim on the leg and not too many fussy details would be nice. Plus a slim fitting/skimming top underneath. One of my best mates is under 5 feet and has boobs on the large side with skinny legs. She will not wear anything with a slim/skinny leg as she doesn't want to emphasise her slim legs (wish I had that problem), but she likes to wear boot cuts and flares and they look really good and well-proportioned on her (balancing out the boobs I guess). The lamentable choice of petite clothes means she often buys children's sizes, but ASOS seem to be quite good if you need petite sizing.
I have just received the pair I ordered from Zara and I'm keeping them (although I might try and change given the crappy zip - thanks Zara).BUT, to escape the Andy Pandy look I won't be able to wear these without a heel. My petite friend often wears chunky boots or platforms with her going out jeans so that might be something you'd want to consider for dungarees too?

BerniceBobsHerHairAgain · 09/09/2015 13:27

Next have a black pair in their clearance section (??16) that are pretty good.

ItsAllGoodMan · 12/09/2015 15:06

PinkGeranium is the asos pair any good? I ordered the Next clearance ones but the legs were too baggy and made me look really stumpy. Has anyone else seen any nice inexpensive ones around? Looking for black ones
