Very warm Winter coat?

I am looking for a Winter coat, like the ones worn in the Sky TV series Fortitude, I believe they are by Canada Goose, which costs a fortune. Does anyone know of anything similar but less expensive.

Have a North Face coat but its not warm enough for my needs.

Have a look at Lands End, they have a great range of down coats in the winter, with warmth ratings. lands end

Is your north face down or primaloft?

oh was going to say Canada Goose but yes, they are very pricey. I got one in the sale but was still $550 - you see a surprising number out and about here in Canada so they are very popular despite the price.

Down filled are the warmest type of coat, and windproof is important if it's really cold (like -25 cold) and make sure it covers your bum.

And you have to have a hood - I wouldn't contemplate a winter coat with no hood here.

Thanks for replies, North Face is primaloft not down. Yes, definitely want one that covers my bum and has a lovely warm hood.

Like the look of Didrikson Mary, are they very warm as well as waterproof?

Uniqlu do an amazingly warm, really light down coat. Water repellant too.

Yes they are warm , look on the Didrikson Mary details .. It's suitable to minus 15 or something .
