Event 1: Saturday night in Madrid for DH 40th birthday, fancy restaurant hopefully
Event 2: Saturday evening in Prague for work event, lots of booze and dancing, fancy castle venue

I'd like something colourful, a bit sexy but comfortable. I'm 35, 12 on top, 14 on bottom, 5' 6'', flabby tummy which I'd like to hide but can be controlled with big pants. Small boobs. Strawberry blonde bob, green eyes, will be tanned!

I'd prefer to wear flats or wedges as there will be dancing involved

Thoughts on this?

I like that dress. I was going to say though that I am a recent convert to a jumpsuit. Having looked for ages I now have two lovely black evening ones and they are perfect for smart meals, weddings, parties etc!

Callmejudith · 23/08/2015 20:20

Actually a jumpsuit could be good, I'm quite long in the body though so the only one I had looked and felt great until I sat down!

Me too, hence it took about 50 attempts to find one that fitted. In the end I found two! One from Phase Eight (joanna) and one from M&S. I am 5ft 7 and a size 8/10. Mango also come up quite long.

Sounds fun. Think that second one just posted is far too evening dressy for a restaurant in Madrid. Madrid is generally pretty trendy, though if it's a traditional type of restaurant a more classic elegant look would fit in.

hellsbellsmelons · 24/08/2015 09:38

I still sooo want THIS to be my chirstmas dress.
I think it will work in lots of situations.

hellsbellsmelons · 24/08/2015 09:38

Oh - and the Karen Millen dress is lovely but very summery and as we are at the end of August you might not get as much use as you would something else.

Callmejudith · 24/08/2015 09:43

Yes strapless and long is way too dressy.

I quite like this but not sure about polyester in the heat

This whistles could be good if it didn't change colour in such an awkward place

Also like this whistles

The dress you posted yourself is perfect for the fort event. The shape will hide your tummy. The colours will be gorgeous with your hair and your tan.

I think you could maybe go dressier for the Prague event.

burnishedsilver · 24/08/2015 09:51

I take that back. I've had another look. The Karen Millen dress is perfect for both.

polyhymnia · 24/08/2015 10:00

Yes I also think the dress you posted yourself is ideal.

polyhymnia · 24/08/2015 10:03

Prague event easier to plan for anyway as presumably you can discuss with your colleagues what they're planning to wear - but really think your choice is great for both occasions.

BrendaandEddie · 24/08/2015 10:14

I hate skater dtessss. Would make a big bottom half look bigger.

polyhymnia · 24/08/2015 12:29

that Mango dress is way OTT for the Madrid event.

Callmejudith · 24/08/2015 15:26

I think the Mango dress could work with flats and the right jewellery, dressed down it could be good.

Seconding the jumpsuit suggestion!

Callmejudith · 29/08/2015 09:08

In the end I went for this I absolutely love it!

hellsbellsmelons · 29/08/2015 13:11

Oooohhh yeah - that is lovely!
Enjoy the events
