Camel coat / cognac boots - what colour bag?

Any suggestions on what colours to look at?

what do you mean by 'cognac'? Dark tan?
I'd wear black with tan, or dark chocolate brown.
I'd match the shoes or the bag to the coat but not both ( ie black boots, tan bag or tan boots and black bag)

I have a bag that is black with some tan details. It came from M&S and they've got a very similar one in stock again this autumn. I find this incredibly useful because it "goes" with both black and brown/tan shoes without looking too matchy to either, and it also seems to soften the black a bit so it still goes with the lighter colours (often cream or light brown) I wear in summer.

There's a small part of me that wants a brilliant yellow or lime green bag, on the grounds that it would go with everything by not going with anything, but I can imagine getting bored with it quite quickly and the other nice thing about my existing bag is that it's quite big - it can comfortably swallow small items of shopping, or a book, as well as the essential things I always carry.
