When you go for treatments..

I am a massage therapist and also do facials and microdermabrasion.
I have a log cabin set up for my treatments and I realise I've set this up for how I would enjoy a treatment there...candles, oil burner, heated blanket, music...I don't speak to a client during treatments unless
They do and although I sell the products I use I don't do 'selling' (it's the reason I left my job in a spa-I was often reprimanded for not being any good at hard selling)
So as clients what do you like/not like in a treatment room?

What you do already sounds wonderful Rainbowlou

Thank you!I'm just aware that some people don't like the music or the relaxing scents and I'd rather be client led than what I would want!

Sounds lovely. One massage place I go to leaves out both water and iced herbal tea so you can have a drink before you hop on the table. They also leave out baby wipes in case you want to wipe off mascara etc before or after the massage.

Perfect. One thing that really annoys me in treatments is when a therapist leaves the room to allow you to "relax" while a mask is on. No, I have head, feet and hands that can be massaged for that 10 minutes. It is a big bugbear of mine particularly when a therapist comes back smelling of fags or cheese n onion!

As long as it is a cosy and relaxing space I am happy.

I like the big glass container with tap in Aveda filled with water, ice, mint, cucumber and lime.....

Whathaveilost · 20/08/2015 08:13

I hate with passion the 'soothing' music. I would go more often if it wasn't for this and I get fed up of asking for it not to be on.
I like being left in silence and I certainly don't want additional feet/ hand massage just to fill time.
I don't want idle chat and I dint like candles!! It's too 'New Age for me'

That said, I do like having treatments believe it or not!! Lol!

Crutchlow Grin

I share your dislike

NeuNewNouveau · 20/08/2015 08:14

Sounds good to me. I prefer not to talk when having a massage as I want to relax completely and concentrate on the muscles.

I like scents as long as it is not too lavender-y or too insence stick hippy type smell!

Only1scoop · 20/08/2015 08:42

I hate anything that's not washed between every treatment left around....fluffy throws ....cushions etc.

Rainbowlou1 · 20/08/2015 10:43

Thank you all!
Maybe I'll start asking if people want music on in case they are secretly cringing during the massage!
I don't smoke or like cheese and onion so that's good!Grin (I've never done a treatment where I've left the client unless they've jumped in the shower))
And baby wipes are good!

I'm delighted if there's a heated blanket on the bottom of the couch in the winter.
Also somewhere to hang clothes, rather than a chair.

Yours sounds gorgeous where are you based?

leadrightfoot · 20/08/2015 11:41

Proper clothes hanging area with hangers.

Option on music
Clean hands of therapist
Water
Wipes
Big smile

Rainbowlou1 · 20/08/2015 11:46

Thank you neuroticattimes! I do have a hook for clothes so maybe a hanger on there too would be better-although most people do chuck their clothes on the chair
(By the way it's Bourne end in buckinghamshire...)
