As the title says.. House smells musty and catty but I can't afford the top of the range reed diffusers. Is there anything out there that's both delicious and fresh smelling and bargainous too??

£3

I've got Vanilla at the moment. Apple, Cotton Fresh, or Lavender Fields might fit your ideas of delicious/fresh?

Go to TKMaxx, some lovely ones under £5, some brands I've never heard of but all have been better than the yankee ones and last ages.

Head over to the good housekeeping section, they have loads of tips. Zoflora wiped along the back of radiators gets rid of most smells.

Amazon do the reeds and various refills, I use these to fill up my White Company bottles and replace half the reeds at a time. Works out quite cheap (except buying The White Co in the first place).

M&S
Parks ones can be found much cheaper in TK Maxx they're usually very expensive
The Wax Lyrical ones from Dunelm are very good too

I hear you can use bamboo bbq skewers (cut in half length ways) as the reeds and just need a pretty pot to stand them in

(Google took me to

  1. In a measuring cup, add about 1/4 cup of your carrier oil.If using alcohol, add into the cup and stir thoroughly to help it bind with the oil.
Add about 10-15 drops of essential oils and swirl the mixture to blend well. Add the oil mixture to your jar. Insert the sticks into the jar.

I just sprinkle lavender oil around my house to make nice smells
