Biker Jackets

I'm sure that this topic has been done to death but I'm hoping that someone will open up the thread anyway!

I am thinking about getting a biker jacket for the autumn (I know that I am about 7 years behind the times) and I am wondering how practical leather is? How do you clean yours? Would I be better buying fake leather or wool instead? Or will this just look wrong!

Thanks in advance for your help. Any links to lovely jackets would also be very much appreciated.

I love my leather ones - I have two from Oasis and one from Mint Velvet. When I'm rich, I'm going to have a Whistles one.

I wouldn't buy fake leather. The jersey and knitted ones can be useful, but nothing beats a proper leather one imho.

Muubaa do good soft leather ones. You can buy samples and seconds on ebay for excellent prices.

They're fitted, which if you're curvy or have big boobs really helps.

Thank you Remus - I love the Mint Velvet one. I think I will need to wait and get it as a present though as it is quite pricey. Luckily it's my 10th wedding anniversary in October!

I generally wear black, grey and indigo - would a grey jacket be as useful as black?

I am tempted to get this bargain, while I wait for a real leather jacket but I've never bought from this store before.

Thanks Twinkle, I'd never heard of MuuBaa. They have some lovely jackets.

That's lovely but has a v different vibe to a leather one. My MV one was half price in the sale - love it!

Love biker jackets. Although I must admit I tend to use my other jackets when there's a chance of rain (and here in Melboure, there is always a chance of rain!)

This is my favourite: www.blkdnm.com/womens/p/wkl201/leather-jacket-1

I think Muuba and All Saints are popular for quality leather jackets.

I have a Mint Velvet pleather one, that I was originally unsure as it is not leather - though you wouldn't know it's not. It's slightly padded, so good for winter. I also have a light grey leather one from tkmaxx, which is quite fitted and so good over a t-shirt or thin top, so I tend to wear it in spring/summer. Muubaa do gorgeous biker jackets.

The link to the anthracite one from MV looks amazing. I bought mine from eBay, it was a River Island leather one. I was leafing through the new Boden catalogue and noticed that their leather one was a whopping £350. Sheeesssh.Confused
