What's gap jeans sizing like?

could anyone help me know what size I need in Gap for jeans? In Boden I'd wear petite size 8, would I need the size 27 (which their guide says is a size 8) or 26 (their guide says a 6)?

They are huge. I wear a topshop size 10 and the size 8 in gap falls off my hip. I can't find anything that actually fits. If I were you I would start with the 26 and pray.

Try. I only buy trousers from there as I prefer uniqlo jeans. Their sizing for those used to be huge but now is only one size down

Massively inconsistent from style to style and even within the same style sometimes, I always have to try loads of pairs on. Length varies hugely, as well as size.

Yes. I'm in a twelve and I'm easily a fourteen. I will say I think some of the black jeans come up smaller than the blue. Which is weird.

I'd always go down at least one full size from what their size chart suggests that you take. Sizing is proper American vanity sizing.

I'm currently full of first trimester bloat and I have no problem getting into my 27R Perfect Boot jeans.

Also, if you're fitting a petite size 8 elsewhere I would consider trying a 25 - particularly if it's a good price!

Order a few sizes and return the ones that don't fit. I like Gap but their sizing is very inconsistent.

When I used to work there (early '00s but I can't see that much has changed) we used to tell people that the American size was two sizes below, and then to go down a size from that, so a UK size 10 was technically a Gap US 6, but try a 4 if you're used to Topshop etc. Sometimes even more. I used to wear a Gap 4 even as a 12 in British shops.

Really put the Daily Mail "size 0" debate into perspective, since a Gap size 0 is basically a modern UK size 6 (i.e. would have been an 8 in the 60-70s).
