Stupid question about toners for blonde hair

I don't want to use one (I don't think), but spied pink, purple, silver and honey ones in Savers today. Do they turn your hair that colour?

Purple toner will cancel out the brassy yellow tones in blonde hair and make it an ashy blonde or white depending on how blonde your hair is .
Silver will do more or less the same and a honey toner will turn it a more golden blonde.
Never heard of pink toner

The pink will turn your hair pink if your hair is very light.

lucysmam · 15/08/2015 09:11

oh, I don't fancy pink hair!

Pastel colours look patchy and abit naff on my hair. They also touch only the lightest hair.

I use a blue toner to get rid of any yellowness between hairdresser appointments.

I didn't see blue ones!

Do they work a bit like the colour correcting concealers you get then? Sort of like green to tone down red ones?

I have no idea how it works tbh, my hairdresser said it's great, so I bought it. If I leave it on too long it looks like ive had a blue rinse like my nan Grin
