Anyone else constantly drawn to clothes that they KNOW do not suit them?

I don't know why but I am always drawn to silky pastel blouses and white cotton shirts. They do not suit my body shape or my colouring but I just keep buying them. And when I wear them I look like I am wearing school uniform.

Grey tops. Look terrible. I love them.

I buy things that would look absolutely perfect on a tanned leggy blonde.

I am 5'5", long of body and short of leg. I have Black Irish colouring, ie very dark brown hair, grey/blue/white skin, freckles and bluey green eyes.
I look half-dead in most of my clothes. I should go for jewel tones and plenty of structure but everything is drapey and neutral...

I'm 5'7", and a size 12/14, with the legs of an international prop forward, but still keep trying on harem pants/loose-at-the-top-then-tapered-to-the-ankle pants.

I am always surprised to see a Weeble in the mirror.

I would love to wear sleeveless shirts and tank tops. Sadly, my arms belong to a person 3x larger in clothes size than what I am.
