Can I save these skinny jeans?

I have an almost new pair of skinny jeans which I accidentally left near the rats cage whilst I was at work. Now one leg has a nice chunk taken out of it just above ankle height

Is there anything I can do to save them? Would skinnies look stupid if they came to just below the knees? Or above? Could I stitch a different fabric around the bottom in an exaggerated cuff or something?

lol at below knees

NO to those

If pedal pushers ever came back into fashion then you could! I think the jeans have had it tbh. Give the rats a stern talking too!

Damn. Yeah, I was thinking they'd probably look ridiculous but didn't want to cut them to find out before finding out if there was another way of saving them!

If we promise not to laugh, can you post a pic?

Why not just turn them into capris? And yes, people are wearing crapis and the shops are selling them too..

RattieofCatan · 10/08/2015 18:22

Capris could be doable, it's not too high up!

Ah, that's not too high. Just shorten them and turn them into capris. Not 'crapis' as I accidentally typed in my last post Grin

RattieofCatan · 10/08/2015 18:29

Haha, didn't even notice that! Shame they'll have to go into the cupboard until next year now tough, I doubt September would be 'crapis' weather Wink

Just double the bottoms up a couple of times - I have some like that they might just skim above ankles and look good with pumps/converse ?

burnishedsilver · 10/08/2015 18:41

Keep them to wear with boots that come over the hole. Ankle boots will probably do it but knee boots are always an option.

hookedonamoonagedaydream · 10/08/2015 20:16

Were they expensive? I would probably darn them (kind of...) or do some sort of hidden stitch and wear them with ankle boots. They would never be perfect but you'd have a job to see the seam with boots on.

RattieofCatan · 10/08/2015 22:21

Not expensive, but I can't really afford it right now. My own fault, I moved the sofa to stop them getting at the awesome wool blanket on it and knocked the bloody trousers in the way instead Hmm I could get away with ankle boots and some darning and wear them for work only, my boss is used to seeing my jeans wrecked, usually it's because of her kids that they are wrecked and not my rats though!
