Best gradual tanner/body moisturiser?

I'm going away in a couple of weeks and am deathly pale.

In the interests of not scaring the locals with my almost reflective skin, can you tell me what your best gradual tanners are?

I vaguely remember using one when they first came out but the smell was dreadful and I spend a lot of time in meetings so the less smelly, the better.

I love Garnier Summer body, the best I've found for even, non-patchy coverage. My second favourite is the L'Oreal one, though that's a bit smellier and stickier it does a lovely job!

Cocoa Brown or Dove are my 2 favourites. The Garnier was very streaky on me.

VagelinaJolie · 10/08/2015 08:53

I like Garnier too, because it doesn't smell. I also like the Palmers ones, I'm fish belly white and I've had lots of compliments on how natural it looks.

Reiltin · 10/08/2015 09:01

I 'third' the Garnier one. Was really impressed by how well it worked Smile

Rewy · 10/08/2015 09:06

The garnier summer body is good but it stinks

DansonslaCapucine · 10/08/2015 09:07

I like Fake Bake's Amplify. Smells of coconut.

I'm using the St Tropez gradual this summer. Best thing about it is that it does not smell of fake tan, at all. Worst thing about it is that it's quite unpredictable and gradual seems to mean "slow" rather than "diluted". Eg I put it on in the morning and it looks alright that evening, but can continue developing overnight and I've woken up a couple of times to surprise streaky ankles. To be safe I now use over another moisturiser which seems to defeat the object somewhat.

VenusRising · 10/08/2015 11:46

I use the St tropez shower one and it develops nicely with no streaks or smell.

You put it on after your shower, in the tub when you're still wet, wait three minutes, and rinse it off. No streaks and dry and dress as usual.

It's the least faffy fake tan I've ever used. I got it in boots.

St tropez gradual for me. Nice smell, easy.

Little pricey but I only buy it on offer.

I am going to apply in daily and then sunday nights and thursday nights as I got lazy and I need to get back into it as it feels a lot nicer.

Cockbollocks · 10/08/2015 15:27

I'm liking the St Tropez shower one too.

DragonMamma · 10/08/2015 19:28

Seems to be a fairly even split between the St Tropez and the Garnier. I'll see what is on offer in Boots tomorrow!

Garner one def smells but gd colour. If the St tropez one doesn't smell I might try it.

daimbardiva · 10/08/2015 19:59

I had high hopes for the St tropez one but in fact I find the waiting three mins thing a bit of a faff. Also I think I'd really need to apply it every day to see any real effect. So it's back to Garnier for me.

bluebump · 10/08/2015 20:17

I like the Palmers Cocoa Butter one, develops a good colour after one application and smells of the normal Cocoa Butter moisturiser they do.

caz1010 · 10/08/2015 20:45

I've just started using a new Avon one.
It smells nice and leaves a slight shimmer behind.
The colour has developed over the last week as very golden and not at all orange.
It's meant to be 8 in 1 but no idea what the 8 things are !
it's sort of given my legs especially an air brushed effect.

LavazzaLover · 10/08/2015 23:13

Sienna x. Love it.

MissGrey86 · 11/08/2015 17:26

I use this Ambre solaire one.
It is an after sun and natural tan maintainer too, and I find it adds a natural shade, rather than an orangey tint

Jedi1 · 11/08/2015 17:29

I like the ambre solaire after sun with tan enhancer - it has less tanner in it I think - no streaks, and doesn't smell like fake tan:)

Ha, great minds MissgreyGrin
