help me style my cow lick unruly short fringe

i have a shortish fringe and don't look good without a fringe (self cut), it's quite short as I like to show off my eyebrows (hate it in my eyes or below eyebrows) but it drives me batty as it curls up in cow licks if I don't immediately blow dry and then it goes mad later on.

I don't think I have the right brush, I just use a bog standard hairbrush and it never looks great. I'm not a fan of straighteners so want to avoid those, but am open to using a hot brush or similar, what kind of brush or comb and / or styling aid is best?

I wash every day or every other day, then blowdry.

By later in the day my unruly fringe is starting to curl, separate in the centre, stick together etc etc and looks greasy.

Please help!!

Also Sali Hughes did a YouTube video on how to blow dry a fringe whibpch works for me. I'll see if I can find it.

thinking about the products but they look expensive, if anyone has any suggestions for other primer type ones that would be great (that don't cost the earth!)

I use Charles Worthington Straightening Creme, small pink tube from Boots for around a fiver, lasts ages as you only need a small amount
