what's the verdict? As a VIP customer they are giving me 15% off. Think there is only 1 possible style in the whole collection.

I know it's their names and everything buy what an awful name for a boot shop. That's put me off before I've even looked...

pinkfrocks · 06/08/2015 17:37

and the default setting is euros. Just called them and no answer but see that you can change the currency bottom of each page. Cheapest is around £235. Guess it's cheaper to buy some calf padding or put on 5 st in weight.

It seems like a backward step - I can't find anything I like Sad

bluespitfire · 06/08/2015 18:56

I was just going to start a thread about this.

Crikey the prices have gone up.
If the quality is the same as Duo was then it wouldn't be worth the cost IMO.

Cat111 · 09/08/2015 22:39

In fairness I couldn't find anything I liked in last year's Duo collection having bought a new pair of boots from them every year for years - disappointing. If their sales were down the problem wasn't the name but the last collection. I quite like some of the new styles but they're definitely expensive - I'll be waiting for the sales. And Ted & Muffy sounds like a children's brand. The worst bit is that on the zip tag there is a T&M logo. I didn't mind it being Duo - although better unbranded - but not sure I can bring myself to advertise the fact I buy 'Ted & Muffy'

Creatureofthenight · 09/08/2015 22:41

It's a bit of a silly name. The prices have shot up.
There's one pair I like, but can't see myself shelling out £275 for a pair of boots.

Mrsj70 · 09/08/2015 22:47

I'm really disappointed, one of the only places I get boots to fit but the new prices are extortionate! I can only hope the sale is amazing :(

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 10/08/2015 01:05

The ink coloured suede ones with the side buttons up the side are cute, shame they're over the knee ones though. Can't see how the look from the front either

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 10/08/2015 01:05
  • suede buttons
SpaghettiMeatballs · 10/08/2015 06:42

I've already unsubscribed. All that fairy tale nonsense and emailing me everyday did my head in.

I think they've had their day. The high street is much better at catering for multiple fits now.

CarpeJugulum · 10/08/2015 06:45

Unsubscribed. Will have to do without again.

Expensive, fewer styles and a stupid name.

What a shame!

FunHouseGrandPrix · 10/08/2015 06:47

I am disappointed too. Looks like I will scouring eBay for second hand Duo Boots now instead. I agree the name sounds like a children's brand.

KatyS36 · 10/08/2015 09:51

If the high street ups their game now there is a clear market hole unless you're at the far ends of the fit spectrum you may be better off
I'm only a bit bigger than average and there is plenty I can find on the high street now compared to a few years ago.

Fortunately I indulged in the sale last year and have some classic black boots that should last for a few years.

The quality would have to massively improve to justify those prices.

Can get over the name - didn't stop fat face!

Katy

Just had a look at Crispins website...my other shoe shop..and Stuart Weitzman boots are an eye watering £595.
Sad

Petal02 · 10/08/2015 10:11

I'm really disappointed too. Duo was a life-saver for me. I'll be looking at thebootmakers.com this autumn. OK so they're not much cheaper than Ted and Muffy, but at least they have a sensible name ......

mrsdavidbowie · 10/08/2015 10:21

Ooh petal they do different heights as well.
Wonder if their 9 is a proper 9.

PerditaMcLeod · 10/08/2015 10:27

Another disappointed Duo customer here Sad

I was horrified at how much they have marked the prices up by. Shocking. I have a number of pairs of boots and shoes from Duo as I love them. Always had to buy during the sale as couldn't justify paying full price so there is absolutely no way I will be able to afford to buy from Ted & Muffy, even with my 'VIP' 15% discount!

Alibabsandthe40Musketeers · 10/08/2015 10:36

I can't believe they want £200 for ankle boots. Insane.

Micropigatadisco · 10/08/2015 12:03

Oh Why, Oh Why have they changed? Did another company buy them out or something? I haven't seen one pair of boots that will fit me with my tiny legs. I managed to nab a great pair when they very briefly did a trial of petite fit boots about 2 years ago, hopefully these will last as long as the 'half calf' style I bought from them 14 years ago (which are knee length on me)
The high street is not good for me - only caters for lovely long legs Envy

moggiesmum · 10/08/2015 16:36

What a shame - - whoever thought of that name?? - - and all the fairy tale stuff!- Oooh no Duo - - we loved you as you were . . . . lower prices and a commercial distinct name. Clever marketing gone wrong - - -
