Looking for merino wool knitwear

Please share your favourites. I love merino wool, it doesn't pill or shrink IME.

I'm on a no-spend August but I'll be raring to go in September!

Gap and Uniqlo have it covered for me. I thought the Uniqlo stuff was on offer just now but it seems it's just keenly priced. www.uniqlo.com/uk/store/list/basic/women/knitwear/extrafinemerino

I love Embers Merino but think it might fall into the deviant category of technical clothing on this board.

Nevertheless it's warm, fits beautifully, doesn't itch and you can wear it for like a whole week and it doesn't stink

stripytees · 04/08/2015 19:25

I have some from GAP that's lasted very well. They usually have lots of styles and colours available.

Coastingit · 04/08/2015 20:34

I have two Uniqlo jumpers from the current range and they are lush.

FreeButtonBee · 04/08/2015 20:54

J crew in the sale - love their tippi jumpers but I am short in the body so might not suit if you're taller.

Uniqlo are always good value and a slightly looser fit

HopeClearwater · 04/08/2015 23:47

I had some from Land's End. Some dodgy styles but worth looking through.

CustardGuzzler · 04/08/2015 23:58

I have both Gap and Uniqlo and I think Gap is better quality. My Uniqlo cardigan gone slightly bobbly and is fluffier whereas the Gap one is smoother and seems to be wearing slightly better. Gap was double the price though.

DustBunnyFarmer · 05/08/2015 00:07

Quite a lot of last season's still in the House of Fraser clearance section of their website - jumpers at £22 instead of £55 and the like. It's under the Linea brand.

CointreauVersial · 05/08/2015 00:24

Get thee to the Woolovers website!

MrsMarigold · 05/08/2015 08:28

Woolovers ignore odd photos they are great.

Callycatsy · 05/08/2015 08:59

Thanks for all of these, I've never used Uniqlo. I've had Woolovers before but not just merino, they're a mix I think. As for the Linea tip, thanks!

I'm looking for a neat, preppy, tailored style so with that in mind I'll check them all out. Thanks again. :)

Grin I'm NoSpendAugusting but waiting for the A/W stock so I can buy some jumpers!

I'm a hormonal furnace at the moment so I don't see myself in Arran knits (sadly) but the cashmere I bought a few years back (Tesco bargain) only wore it 4-5 times, it got a bit felty.

I want one of the argyle pattern jumpers (woolovers) and I'll have a look at HoF too.

Callycatsy · 05/08/2015 09:23

Morning 70! We're just looking in August - right? Grin

I hadn't thought about the furnace issue, I'm new to that this summer and it never occurred to me I'd be the same in winter. I think I thought the cold weather would negate it. Confused

CointreauVersial · 05/08/2015 13:21

Cally - don't knock it - you might not need that merino jumper after all!

Callycatsy · 05/08/2015 17:06

Grin I'll be on a no-spend all winter at this rate!

That Woolovers site has lots of useful basics. I also want a defuzzing comb for my current bobbly jumpers.

hugoagogo · 05/08/2015 21:59

The defuzzing comb would have the added advantage of increasing you dust bunny flock/herd Grin

DustBunnyFarmer · 05/08/2015 22:11

Aye, little dustsheepies. I like it!
