Cheap body wash for dry, sensitive skin

Not for me, for OH. Can anyone recommend anything?

His skin, particularly his back, can be really itchy, spotty and dry. Oilatum helps, but I'm wondering if he may be sensitive to something in conventional washes.

As this is likely to be trial and error, I want something. reasonably priced

Sanex. I usually find Asda is cheaper and it's cheaper to buy in big bottles.

Try a shower oil. Very moisturising. Body shop almond shower gel is very oily although it doesn't claim to be.
Also try aqueous cream. That can be used in shower.

Buy something that doesn't have SLS in. Check his shampoo as this has SLS in and is the main cause of spotty backs.

CD has eczema and dry skin, consultant suggested Dove. Works a treat for her.

We all now use Halos and Horns body wash. Got it originally as DD is sensitive to SLS. It had no nasties in it. My skin used to itch too but has stopped now I use this. Find it in the baby section of Boots/Tesco. Watch for shampoos too as they can cause reactions on the body as they rinse out. I like L'Oreal Everpure range as it's Sulphate free.

Aveeno. Often on offer in one or other of the big pharmacy chains.

I can't use Sanex as it still has Sodium Laureth Sulphate in it. I don't understand why they would make the effort to reduce irritants and then still have this as the second ingredient.

Aveeno much better - still has it but my skin is OK with it.

You might be alright with aqueous cream but it's not recommended for dry skin any more, even as a soap, as it contains sodium lauryl sulphate which is an even worse irritant.

Also check shampoo - Everpure was a fantastic cheap sulphate free range but I can't seem to find it any more

OP check out the soap thread. I recommended my favourite soap on there. As a family we are very atopic, and can use this black African soap on our dry, itchy skin without irratation. I also suffer from rosacea and react in the sun. This has been my saviour this summer, as I'm also very sweaty
This soap has kept me clean and fresh without any rashes at all. We love it.

E45 wash,- the kids one us usually on offer at boots. It had little blue and red beady things in it but they are fun to squish.

I have sensitive skin and cannot use sanex! I use dove, either the cream oil one or Shea and vanilla

I use dove myself but more sessitive members of the family scratch like crazy if they use my soap!

Dove is another culprit like Sanex! For my skin it doesn't matter if you are 1/3rd moisturising cream if you've also put SLE/SLES in there. I don't understand why manufacturers do this, it's undermining their own product.

You may be Ok with Dove but it may still cause itching.

We do use dove, but it hasn't improved his skin.

I went to lush at the weekend and I asked for something sls free and the SA still recommended something with sls until I showed her the label.
