those eyeshadow things with more than one colour

What do you do when one of the colours runs out? I have a lovely Bare Minerals one and the most used colour is about to run out. Do I just buy a whole new one? (ignorant me - I only came to makeup very late in life).

Some brands sell the colours individually, so might be worth looking into that. If not another brand might to similar. Have you tries the colours in the palette as they usually complement each other
