Is the branding on the side of the sandal printed on or imprinted into the leather?

I have 2 pairs, with the different marking. One pair was off eBay, though.

I have gizahs in both black and silver .. The black ones are embossed into the leather , I know the silver ones have the writing in black , they are upstairs but I'm sure they are imprinted as well

My white ones are embossed.

I've just checked my Papillio ones and they have the name printed rather than embossed. They aren't leather though. My leather Arizona ones are embossed.

where does the leather/strap attach to the shoe? I bought a pair out of tk max last year and the leather attaches withing the footbed. Turns out they are for the American market. Still genuine Birkies but a cheaper version. £25 v £55 for my new pair that i bought the other week because the old pair split. I might get off my arse in a bit and check the old pair

They are both embossed.

It varies

It's usually embossed or printed but I have the mirror ones that were released this summer and they don't have print or emboss on them. I know they're genuine as they were bought from office.

I have a pair of white Relax 200 (cheap two strap style from TK Maxx) and it's Embossed into the straps.

I'm still not convinced.

Just seems poor quality for the print to be wearing off.

Embossed and really shouldn't fade. I've a few pairs, from old to new and the branding stays put always. for you.

Just messaged the seller to inform them of my disappointment.

Wonder how this'll be best resolved. Don't want to let them get away with selling fakes.

My papillon which are printed on the side, have Birkenstock on the buckle and the bit that holds the toe post together.

My leather Birkenstock and leather Betula both have embossed name on the side and Birkenstock/Betula on the buckles.

I have patterned Birko-flor(?) Papillio which have Papillio on the buckles but only printed on the sides - genuine from the online store. I have silver Papillio that are embossed, like the silver Birkenstock from another poster.

My white ones are embossed.

That pair look fake.
The white sole is thinner too.

The printing on that pair is a little bit wonky too. My floral papillios are printed but haven't rubbed off or faded at all after two years.

Seller is adamant they're authentic - bought in Office.

Got techy when I asked if I could return for refund, but will refund nonetheless.

Glad you're getting a refund. The print on my Papillios is not faded or wearing off at all and they were worn a lot last summer. I don't like the way yours are faded.

I returned them signed for to ensure she receives them, even though she "has a lot of her plate at the moment" and the return cost will be mine "if it's too expensive".

Talk about trying to keep your buyers happy!...
