What bag to go with gold sequin dress?

I'm going to an event and have a golad sequinned evening gown and I've got no clue what sort of bag will look right with it, any ideas? My shoes are a metallic silver but thin straps so don't look odd (you can really see my feet anyway).

Not sure the high street has an acceptable stock of anthracite velvet to be honest, how uncivilised

I'd go for a soft black leather one, as neutral/nude colours might look a bit bland. Or if you're feeling brave cobalt would look lovely
