Shampoo to tone down highlights?

My highlights are turning brassy and I need to tone them down. Can anyone recommend a shampoo or other product I can buy and who sells it? Thank you.

I just got a "silver" shampoo from boots. It's in a purple and silver bottle-,only used it once but this is what my hairdresser told me to get.

Yep, get a really deep purple shampoo designed for blonde or silver hair. The purple pigment counteracts the brassiness. I use the Touch of Silver one but there's loads on the market. Just make sure you choose a really deep coloured one - it almost feels like it will dye your hair, the lather will be a bit purple, but it washes out and your hair looks fabulous! I only use mine every few washes so the bottle lasts but still keeps the brassiness away Smile

Remember to use a good conditioner after though because they can be a bit drying.

i use one from lush called daddy-o, really though i think you need to get a toner put on it, doesn't cost much at hairdresser

Lush Daddy-O is the best silver shampoo I've found (better then Touh of Silver, Schwarzkopf Bonacure, Clairol Shimmer Lights and Bleach London) for keeping my silver hair silver and free from any brassiness.

It works amazingly and smells of violets and lemon. Win!

I tend to just add a teaspoon or two of Directions violet dye to my regular conditioner (and shake well) and it seems to do the job.

Lee Stafford Blonde Hot Shots, in Boots. Quite good.

But, the best thing I have found is something called Wella Colour Fresh. It is a proper toner but you shampoo it in. I get it from a shop that sells beauty supplies and hair extensions. It is amazing. It costs about £7 and it works so well on my lightened hair.

I didn't get on with the Lush one.
